Received my test results and I'm a bit confused. The results state that my zinc is more than 132,232ppm. My fish seem fine, my tube anemones are fine, my mini maxi anemone is fine. I only have a few coral as the tank isn't that old but the zoas, duncans ect are all fine. My montipora hirsuta isn't happy though.

How is everything alive with so much zinc in the water? How can my water even contain this much zinc?

Hand creams and lotions are common zinc sources.
And I think that's 132.232, not 132,000

I don't use creams, I'm a fish farmer so very careful never to use anything like that. I haven't even painted my nails in the last four years. Fauna marin is German, they use "," and "." in place of each other, opposite to the US and UK.

I use a tunze care magnet but I don't leave it in the tank. Surely everything would be dead if the numbers were correct, no?

I don't use kalkwasser.

Sorry, you're correct about the . Vs , missed it.
Zinc is also used in galvanized products, screws or sheet metal.

I don't have anything like that in or around my system but, I get my sea water from work, I'm beginning to wonder if there is an issue there.

I just can't believe that everything would still be alive and happy with such high zinc.

It's expensive, but maybe get a 2nd icp from triton or other.
Maybe the monti's not happy for another reason, and it's a test error

I do wonder about some of the values on the Fauna Marin ICP. On my last one I had lithium >802.123 (so 802,134 in US) and Iron >120.421 (120,421 US) which both seem absolutely bonkers to me. I just sent in another this week so I’m curious what it will say this time.
