What corals were you dipping? Monti nudibranch tend to be more mute in coloration, zoanthids nudibranch much more colorful, like the color of the zoanthids eating.

I was dipping palys, not zoas.

I've read that zoa nudis tend to be the color of the zoa they're munching on. However, this seems to be a very dull brownish orange.

mine were brown generally. then would get the color on the back.
