Its a common question but...

Ive had these zoas for over a year and a half. They've grown so well and are almost covering the whole rock i placed their frag on. You can't even tell there's a frag there. However, over the last 10 days, all the polyps have remained closed. Five days ago a did a dip in revive and checked for pests. I didn't see any, not that that doesn't mean they aren't there.

Two months ago I moved, having to tear down the whole tank to move. Some corals are still struggling since then and I can't help but wonder if its the water here. I do use an RO/DI system... always have, and I get a zero TDS reading. So I can't tell if its the water or not. The thing is, they were doing really well after the move compared to some of the other corals.

They sit under 87par, close to the sand bed, in the middle of the tank were there's lower flow.

Salinity 1.026
pH 8.2
dkH 8.9
Nitrates 0.3ppm
Phosphates 0.07ppm

When this happens, , often can be change in water flow and especially light too bright but 87 PAR is acceptable.
I would consider running moderate flow which is ideal but Zoa can adapt to low or high flow. In high flow, you will typically see polyps grow closer to the rock with shorter stalks. A sudden change of parameters and even use of vodka or carbon dosing that reduces nitrate quickly.
Another is lack of feeding and food as infrequent feeding and low nutrients can lead to an entire colony melting down. You dont need to target feed as zoas are photosynthetic. It is generally found that target feeding zoas always provides mixed results when food falls onto their polyps. If continued, give them a lugols iodine dip

IMO zoas do this sometimes I have a colony of 15+ utter chaos on one side of the tank mostly closed up currently and another colony of 10 polyps on the other side wide open. Can’t explain it they just do their thing.

Moves are stressful, and you have almost no nitrates as well. I think bringing those nitrates up to 5-10 would likely make a difference.
