I have these zoas over growing on to my sps and need to get rid of them. I can not remove the rock so I’m looking for advice on removing them in the tank. The ORA red planet doesn’t seem to mind to much but these are getting out of control. Is there any easy way to try to remove these in the tank?

Thank you! I’d like to get rid of some on the outer edges though. There is also another acro below them that is not liking the contact and I like the acro better.

Be careful what you wish for...

You can use a metal straw attached to a siphon hose/tube and scrape at the zoas on the edges you are trying to trim back. This is referred to as the 'metal straw trick' though searching for these key words finds many false positives - if anyone sees this and can attach youtube video showing it - would be appreciated

You could also talk to your local reef stores and see if they'll let you trade in. We do that and get store credit (they give wholesale, but they save by not having to pay shipping and it gives them more variety (and often healthier!). My last visit I walked out with a new test kit plus lots of frozen food and pods but my bill was almost nothing due to store credit from giving them coral and fish (aggressive).

Ya I have done that before but the only store around me doesn’t have much. There tanks are usually full of clowns and aptasia.

Utter chaos? Don't just bin them. Frag them and sell. You'll probably make at least 100$ or so.
