Zoa questions

Hey all,

Two questions... maybe three...

What are these large white things on zoas?... i really dont think zoa pox but cant find another reason. Looks like the sand or something in it.

Some of them have this white on the plate and cant figure out why?

Ok three... is the flesh seperating on some of them or it just looks this way?

When i first got these a few months ago they were in rough condition compared to now... like some polyps were inverted and some just a head with white on it and i guess it loved ny tank and healed really nicely.

I'm no zoa expert but the flesh looks fine. Polyps look like they're extending well.
Regarding the white patches, are you able to scrape them off? Are more appearing around your tank? If so I'd assume some Spirorbid worms.

For me your zoanthids look fine. However, the white dots could be eggs of zoa eating nudibranch. Google some pictures and compare them. Inspect them by night when they are closed up for nudibranches. If they are in fact nudibranch eggs, get your zoa’s out and treat them. Check all zoa colonies in tank!

Those white things in the first picture look like worm tubes. I forget the name, but they've never been a problem for me. Maybe a sponge too. (below those)

Not sure what I'm looking at in the other pictures, but you might want to research flatworms just to be safe. GL.

Thanks all... i dont see any nudibranchs or flat worms on it at all. I check when closed up under my flashlight and dont see anything living. Could the dip have killed off whatever may have been living in it? My thoughts were eggs or worm holes but they have been just like that for thw few months ive had them.

The other pictures show a whitening on the face of the plate which others dont have... maybe just colouring of that polyp? And another ouc where it looks almost like the flesh is ripped or seperated from other areas. Maybe its just my eyes or something..

Didn’t want to scare you with the nudis. The white dots you have do look more like spirorbids :) But always better to check just in case.

Yeah, looks like spirorbid worms - harmless filter-feeders.

Coral aren't my strong point (so I may well be wrong here), but the zoas look fine to me; I would guess they're just developing their color in your tank.
