I'm looking at you joshporksandwic[FONT=arial, helvetica, sans-serif]!

I see all these beautiful zoanthid gardens all over club zoa, and it hurts, it hurts a lots.
I can't get mine to look like... not ew (wow, shakespeare over here).
But I'm here to rant about how ew my zoanthid garden looks, instead, would any of you zoa hoarders tell me how you build suchj nice gardens.

And I know it's not just about the zoas you have, I've seen beautiful gardens full of eagle eyes and dragons eyes and , all those common zoas.
You have some sort of gift, you just are able to turn any old haul of frags from your LFS and turn it into a masterpiece.

Share with me your secrets! pls?

By the way, my zoanthid garden isn't as bad as I make it sound, but I think there is lots of room for improvement, it just doesn't pop! Tips?

Your zoa garden looks great, give yourself some cred :)
Thanks, I just wish it looked as nice from the front as it does from the top. You can't see the eagle eyes because they're in a gap, and they really add some colour to the mix.

Yeah...you're doing a great job. I've not had much luck with zoa gardens myself! I think time is the important factor....

Grow the colony out a little before placing this helps them from mixxing and taking each other over eventually they'll take over each other. Just looks cleaner

I think I'll try that, is there also a way to stop them from spreading while I get more zoas?
My LFS has a rock covered in more than 200 STUNNING alien eyes!

Ge some bone cutters. Snips. Toe nail cutters what ever you wanna call them.

If you can't remove the rock . Just start clipping the rock and use a razor to cut the mat of the zoa off so you have chunks of rock and zoa.

Thanks! I'll pluck off a bunch.
I plan on removing all the blown zoas, and isolating a small frag, until I know what to do with it.

The key to a nice garden is separation. All my mothers are grown on separate pieces to control different growth rates. For instance, in the photo below, all of the palys were arranged from different areas of my tank 15 minutes before the photo was taken.

Thanks for the help. Those are some sweet zoas! I just got some lunar eclipses and I'm growing them out on an isolated rock, I'll put them with the others when they're bigger.

What do you all think of this. I'll cut up the rock, remove all the zoanthids I like, and sell the ones I don't want anymore or trade them for some nicer zoas?
I'll have to buy a piece of live rock to fill in the area but whatever.
