It would be cool to see a built-in protein skimmer in the back of one of these like CPR used to do for their HOB refugiums back in the day.

Something like this?It would be cool to see a built-in protein skimmer in the back of one of these like CPR used to do for their HOB refugiums back in the day.
Middle section can hold many different skimmer types and sizes.yeah, but built in to the AIO section would be neat.
I did similar testing and the lean and squeeze was my best method as well. I used a syringe with a 25g tip and was able to control it very well. Much easier than the applicator bottle and practically no chance of accidental drops.
I did get a dolphin one long time ago with my AIO drop in. That hammer head one is awesome! Love the light idea!Along with the ATO there were two practice pieces. Sparked an idea I've been working on for small LED lit signs.
Those that got the DIY Frag and Sump kits a while back might of gotten the "I Love TENNECOR" etched piece.
Before taking off all the film I painted the letters and shark. Its solid without the light, and has a nice glow above both white and blue. Base is foam board mock up with a small submersible LED to prove out concept.
Lighting it up without painting looks cool too.I did get a dolphin one long time ago with my AIO drop in. That hammer head one is awesome! Love the light idea!
Will do it this weekend. This week is dedicated to resealing the pico (I had light water leakage from two different spots at the bottom). Either I didn’t apply enough Weldon or I should’ve listened when everybody says wait at least 24 hours (I waited for 20 from finishing the bottom since it was around bedtime and didn’t want to wait till next day).Anyone build your ato reservoirs yet?
Found another one I didn't paint all of it. Carefully scored body contour on the shark with a hobby Xacto for this cool effect when lit up.Lighting it up without painting looks cool too.
Only issue with paint or nail polish is that you have to apply multiple coats and it still isn't 100% equal thickness. You can see this more on the shark than the letters. Shark had 3coats, but under light its really cool with a 3d look. Possibly spray paint for equal coverage.... This is the fun with DIYs anything is possible.
Seriously lol I didn’t realize how thin it would be. I can’t imagine how the 3 or 4 areGlad I used the practice pieces! The way everyone talks about 16 I didn't expect it to be so thin!
A couple of goober spots but I'm not wiping them! I'll let I dry and go from there. So far though, just using gravity sure seems to be the ticket. It looks like full coverage under the entire wall. I laid a bead of Weld-On and then set the vertical piece on it. That's how it's supposed to go, right?
Imagine isopropyl alcoholSeriously lol I didn’t realize how thin it would be. I can’t imagine how the 3 or 4 are
Middle section can hold many different skimmer types and sizes.
Edit: I'm going to try this 3.2" x 2" x 8.9" Bubble Magus MiniQ Nano Protein Skimmer
If the sliding height adjustment doesn't work with heater and light bracket than I'll just shim it up with a small pedestal like done in large sump systems.
Cutting up lid. Make a couple AIO covers out of it, or all new ones.Do you plan to cut the lid or go without one?
