Scientific Name - Maicolor niger

Common Name - Black Snapper

Size - 26" (66 cm) (35 cm)

Min. Aquarium size - 200 US Gal. (757 L)

Foods and Feeding - Varied diet of marine meaty foods, chopped fresh or frozen shrimp, scallop, marine fish flesh, Mysid shrimp, prepared frozen foods for carnivores. Feed 3 times a day. (Juveniles may initially need live foods).

Reef Compatibility - Will eat crustaceans, small fish, polychaete worms.

Captive Care - Provide plenty of swim room, more than one can be kept in same tank, will be picked on by more aggressive tank mates, and aggressive feeders may keep them from getting adequate nutrition.
