hey errrbody! been taking a bit of a reefing break, but my wife surprised me with a quick "yes!" to a spur of the moment purchase after seeing an led nanocube at a lfs when we were there buying a cory cat for her little goldfish tank this weekend of all things!

i'd been wanting to have something small on the main floor of our house for a while, as my main reef is in the basement where we just never really enjoy it. wasn't exactly out shopping for it, but this should fit the bill. i must say, there is something uniquely appealing about the simplicity!

here's its new home!

i had a 15" reefbrite led bar laying around and it just so happened to fit perfectly into the hood, so this particular led nanocube will have a bit more blue led "pop" to it! the reefbrites are a lot more purple than the blue leds built into the hood, and the combination really makes for an electric look. can't wait to get some life lit up under them!

My wife would have said....."You're going to put that where?!". Looks great! Would love to see updates when you get it stocked since I was looking to upgrade my JBJ 28 from my 150w to LED. Keep us updated!

thx for the welcome backs! glad to see everyone (mostly) is still here. :)

and yes, i have a very understanding wife! ...either that or she was just getting sick of everyone asking her if i still have a reef tank and thought this might curtail awkward discussion! ;)

Glad you are back Benny. The tank looks sweet. However looking inside the tank it appears you are going with the growing trend of air tanks. What species of air fish do you have in there?

sorry, i should have stated not to do what i'm doing for anyone new!

i've used established rock/sand for this. added ammonia and i'm testing 0 for ammonia and nitrites. there was no cycle...or a very very mini one if there was.

Your scape for such a small footprint is awesome! I love how large of a sand bed you have to work with!
