seriously, it was totally an impulse buy.

but seriously, too, we have been talking about it for about a year. i kind of got burned out with reefing pretty much consuming my life a while back...working part time at a lfs and doing side tank maintenance jobs...shipping/dealing with online customers...on top of my "real" job... just got in a bit of a slump and let my big system go. sold my corals and have been running that fish only...in our basement where we never hang out...just lost interest. i still feed the fish and top up the water down there, but i've had an "itch" to get my hands wet again. we will bump into reefing friends or customers when we are out and it's always an awkward moment when we are asked if we still have a fish tank. hah!

wow, sidetracked...

basically, with having this in the room where we live, right in front of me, i am excited about it all over again. maybe i'll move the big tank up here next. (shhhhhhhh!)

and my wife knows that makes me happy...it was my birthday (srsly, dec 31)...and i guess she was just in the right mood at the right time. (rare!)

plus i told her i'd pay 1/2 w/ my christmas/bday money. :)

btw, i severed my aquatic employment in april. it's much better as a hobbiest. :)

if anyone has some sweet deals on some killer starter frags, i'll be looking! starting from zero again. hah!

added the first fish today! bluespot jawfish. it's been busy building a burrow and making the tank a cloudy mess again. :)

also added 4 frags...nothing fancy, but i had to put something in it. bam-bam zoas, multi-color cloves, some orange/green acans, and some red/green blastos.

couple pics - fish is still in hiding w/ sand dust stuck to his slime. healthy fish & eating.

anyone have thoughts on mixing a mystery wrasse and helfrichi firefish w/ the jawfish?

With my experiance, helfrichi firefish and the b.s.j. NO Mine fought till the end and strangely enough... My Spot Lost:neutral: I even added them at the same time as suggested to ease acclimation

thx - decided against the mystery. going to get a mccosker's flasher wrasse instead. and instead of the firefish, i opted to move my picasso clowns into this tank.

time for an updated full tank shot!

the bluespot has settled in...he basically has made the entire rock structure his home.
