ok I got a piece of strawberry shortcake from Jason Fox at a frag swap awhile back. I also got other sps frags. all of the are doing fine but the strawberry shortcake, its actually white now. I don't understand what happened because the of acros I have by it are doing great. I thought it might...
I refilled my calcium container and left the pump on while clearing the line. Oops. Rise from 420ppm to 470ppm. I started to notice my polyp extension on a few of my acros was pitiful. Before the rise the polyps looked like they might pop off the coral. Now they are barely sticking out...
Just looking for input on a couple of cheap Acros I picked up from the LFS awhile back. It's a little hard to see from the picture, but the side facing the light fixture is almost completely devoid of polyps. They've been in the tank for about 4 months. Is this bleaching? Some sort of...

Brief background: 49 year old native Floridian who moved to San Antonio about four years ago. After so many years in and around South Florida and the Gulf Coast, being more or less land locked left me yearning for the clear water and coral reefs of the Keys. A thought occurred: Bring the...
Hi folks,
This has been covered I'm sure but i thought i'd add my experience so far with getting rid of these little turds.
If you're not familiar with what these guys look like here is a video i shot before treatment. they are TINY! this video is shot with a macro lens and extension tubes...
This guy has stripped the side of one of my Acros. He was in another one that did need help recovering and now it is. But, he moved over to this one that I thought was doing well. It is a fuzzy relish brown color with blue eyes. Thoughts?
I want to open a thread first to "show off" my acros , second is to document the growth of them.
I'm still learning with my photography skills, so I'm sorry if some pic turn out too dark or too blue.
Now, sit back and enjoy stick-head guys!

So In June my Biocube crashed and this is the recovery.
I'll ask questions along the way and if anyone can help me, that'd be great :)
I dose Calc, Alk, and Mag from reef grow. This was before the crash this pic was taken about 20 hours after the first one, I crashed hard.
this is a post...
Hi,
A little bit about me first.
I'm an Engineer, so you will see that in terms of planning and organization, i also have the Engineer syndrome ;) Also have a 9yo boy and a 7yo daughter, and of course my wife tolerate my 'hobbies'.
I started my tank in May 2016, i'm pretty happy that i have...
The Pearlberry is one of those corals that most people look at and think “It’s soooo beautiful – I’m going to try my hand at keeping SPS!” For sure, this is an inspiring coral – it is one of the most spectacular corals in our system, and we sure do love to stare at it. But as most SPS keepers...
Acropora secale is buff. It works out. Not like a “10 minutes on the treadmill” kind of work out, either. This coral is one of the most dense that I have ever kept in my system. It is a high-energy, high-output kind of coral. It obviously loves to consume high amounts of calcium and other ions...
