Good morning and Merry Christmas!
I'm upgrading my 90g reef to a 150g reef with two overflows. I cannot use my existing Aqueon pro heaters in the new tank because they cannot be mounted horizontal in the sump. Looking for feedback on a heater and controller. I'm thinking ink bird controller...
I have a ~120gallon setup, so based on recommended heater sizing I got 2x300W BRS titanium heaters on an inkbird controller. I also have an Apex for backup temp monitoring. The BRS website recommends 300W for "up to 100gal" and also put out a video awhile back that suggeated 2 smaller heaters...
Got it with a chiller which I wired in-directly to apex so no need for this and its taking up space.
Clean and ready to go. $70 shipped via Brown & Co.

Hi everyone! I was able to confirm with LFS my tank has initially cycled and I’m wondering if I should turn on my skimmer? I have two clowns and two lps corals… water is very clear, I haven’t gone through the diatom phase yet … I also just turned on the lights today after a month or so of them...
I tried searching past posts and didn't really get an answer for my question.
I am looking at heater controllers and see there are a few on the market. I currently have an Inkbird in my shopping cart, but want to know what others think about a couple of the other brands out there?
Inkbird...

3 controllers are included in the sale. 1 is nearly new only used a few months and the other 2 have about 3 years runtime on them (I will label so you know). All are in working order with no known issues but I personally replace controllers every 3 to 4 years so I don't want to sell something I...
Brand new, unused Helio Universal Controller by Innovative Marine! Purchased this without realizing that it is not compatible with the IM Helio PTC heating elements due to different plugs. Price is $65 shipped and is firm due to me already losing money paying for shipping.
I have a used Inkbird ITC-306A WiFi Temperature Controller with 3D printed mount for sale. It was used about 4 months before I got my aquarium controller so I no longer needed. Works perfectly. $40 for controller and mount.
Shipping available.
I recently purchased the Bayite Temp Controller BTC201, and was wondering if anyone knows how it works with a heater with a built in controller. Say I have an Oase heater and I set it to 76 and the controller to 78, does the controller overrule the heater and raise it? what about the reverse? I...

Hey everyone!
I am about to switch my heating system up for my 25 gallon tank before adding my first two clowns from QT. I have an Inkbird and two 75 watt heaters.
Question: for those of you who use dual heaters and a controller, do you use the heater thermostats to control tank temp with...
Hi All,
I have 2 Inkbird ITC-306A (on two different tanks) Both have been working fine up until a week ago when my internet modem decided to die. I have had to reset my modem to factory settings to get it to work. over the last 5 days i have been trying to reconnect them to wifi and my iPhone...
Hi folks,
I've been thinking of making a DIY STC-1000 temperature controller and I'm wondering how reliable and long-lasting they are after seeing this board: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/heater-controllers-do-fail.780033/#post-8259865
Anyone here made a DIY STC-1000 controller? How long...
Hey everyone!
I am still in the research phase in preparation for my very first tank and am a little overwhelmed with how to set up a relatively reliable heating system without spending more than $125 or so on heating.
The tank will be 25 gallons, so 100w heating requirement. In adding layers...
Hey all, I currently use a 75W cheap heater for my biocube 16. I just bought a Eheim Jager 50w not realizing my current is a 75W. My wife is giving me a temp controller for Christmas. I trust Eheim implicitly. But is it big enough?
Hi everyone!
Its getting to that very short time of year where I need to figure out a good heater for my 29 gal BioCube (I say this because I live in Florida, so not much need for one outside of maybe 3 months out of the year so I've been putting off getting one). I'm also in the market for an...
Hey guys,
I’m curious what heaters you guys use and how accurate and stable it is. Also what do you consider “stable”? +-2 degrees? Here’s my apex reading for the past week. I’d like to keep it a lot more stable than this but wondering I’m looking into too much.
