Any DIY or store bought solutions for this odd skimmer drain outlet on NYOS 160? I just have a kinked hose that comes out of it. Less than ideal. Was hoping someone else came up with or found a solution.
Hello guys,
I'm after some help please. My hydor performer L45 pump burnt out so I got a new one but it doesn't come with the blue locking ring or outlet part that holds the impeller as this broke somehow too !!!
I've tried searching the internet and contacting Hydor (no reply after several...

Does anyone know if you can effectively use a Biocube protein skimmer in a sump?
I'm thinking it will still work as effectively, but was just curious if anyone has done this?
This is the one I'm thinking of...
I am just getting back into reefing, and I'm going to be setting up a 150 gal tank. But, in the next couple years I am going to upgrade to a tank around 300 gallons, so I want to purchase equipment that I can use on the 150, as well as on the larger tank I purchase down the line. I was thinking...
This is the newest version of CoralVu's in-sump space saver skimmer. I purchased in May and used it 18 days (just long enough to break in). Sadly, it is much too large for my 75 gal system. This is a situation where bigger wasn't better. It worked great after break-in, but not consistently...
Hi!
I've created a sump design and would like some feedback on it. Pardon me for cramping the drawing a bit. Hope it's readable enough and not an eyesore. It has following 4 chambers:
1) Protein Skimmer
2) Ceramic Rings, Pot Scrubbers(Scrubbies Affectionately) and maybe Activated Carbon
3)...
I have a fairly new tunze doc 9001 protein skimmer. Friend bought it new and it didn't fit his sump the way he wanted. I believe he ran it on the side if his tank for a week or two. He did manage to lose the elbow to run the intake as a surface skimmer, but not necessary to run to run it...
Already, I'm feeling pretty dumb right now but in my defense there are no assembly instructions haha. When putting the skimmer body on to the pump, it's not sitting flat because a piece of the 'nozzle' won't let the skimmer slide all the way down. Am I doing something wrong or is this a design...
Last week I picked up the Instant Ocean SeaClone as I had a gift card for PetSmart and I figured well what the heck I'll try it. Now it's barely even breaking in and has some other negative aspects which I feel unsure of. I only paid $100 and I know there are some other skimmers I can get for...
Bought it off eBay had no manual so I'm not quite sure where the optimal water level to set it at. This is my first in sump skimmer and it is working quite well foaming and producing waste I would just like to know what the optimal level is
How do I know how high to set my new skimmer collection cup? I have a reef octopus 100 HOB protein skimmer. I got it two days ago and right when I plugged it in it worked awesome with bubbling over the edge but now it hasn't bubbled over for awhile, only about halway up the inner tube. Is there...

I'd like to buy a protein skimmer for my new 29 gallon reef. Problem is, I just started this hobby and am already well over my original budget. So I found this skimmer :
