what are your guys thoughts on my alk? i did all my testing and its 6.9. i just did a water change yesterday and dose all 4 reef. is it time to start up some kalkwasser yet too?

Mine too after we get the refugium running. Plan is to have a workday in Feb with my brother Ryan's family and drill (wish me luck) and raise the refugium.

I tried once and failed, now with all the wrasses I have it's hard to see a pod

I'm sitting outside making water. I'm on my fourth or fifth 5 gallons for today. A few more sensors for th Hydros and some tubing and fittings for the RO and I can hang it semipermanently in the house next to the tank and no more hauling water from the backyard.

Woohoo! Until then, at least it's only 65 today and not 150° yet.

When I got her she was so small. I don't think I'd ever see her in a larger tank till now. I did just order some piscine mini pellets to see if she'd eat those too. Was always afraid she's get sucked in to the hygger but she's been fine.

I've done a 180 from testing and pushing for 8.5 dead on to watching the corals and occasionally testing and making broad adjustments. For example, if I see alk dip below 7, I increase my AFR a bit. Right now I'm dosing 60mL per day in my 40, so if it goes below 7, I'll increase to 65mL and check again later (couple weeks-couple months). Corals should look happy during this time, or better test again if not. I only have easy SPS and lots of LPS and softies, so that might not work if I decide to get into harder SPS.
