Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
When do you switch yours out for clean ones?
Never lol, I leave them for a week or two or if they get clogged before, I wash them and put them back in. I have the Red Sea ones that are like mesh.

Are you going to take yours out when you add the pods?

I have tried both ways, leaving them on and removing them, what I do is turn off my return pump, all the power heads and skimmer, I leave it for 5 minutes, then I put the pods in and leave everything off for 20 to 30 minutes and then I turn everything on.

This is the way I do it as well.

Oh yeah. He's probably our favorite fish at the moment (don't tell the others)
And...this morning he's gone missing. He was out and feeding aggressively yesterday when I fed them before work. Drat.

I tried that with one aiptasia head. It disappeared and a month later there were 10 there. 100% wouldn't go that route again.
Really? That's the only way that ever worked for me. I've kalked them, lemon juices them, and Aiptasia-X. Boiling water, Peppermint Shrimp, and Berghia worked. Also Tasseled Filefish but they don't seem to eradicate the aiptasia before they get a taste for coral.

It looks as though the frag of coral is mounted on a plug - the little pedestal piece it is glue to
I think he meant to replace the plug.

Sorry everyone had to wake up to a neon Ballroom, aka @VintageReefer reef. My eyes are hurting too.
This guy is definitely one of my favorite reefers and an excellent person and friend. He is so much of the reason why I've had the level of success I've had at this stage in reefing. I couldn't think of someone better for the Smorgasbord. My friend it is awesome to have you here, brother.
Little known fact, we’re such good buds we even have a theme song.

“Love is an open door”

Sorry if I embarassed you. We shouldn’t have to hide the magic we have!

King Ranch was a new member with an inadequate lighting setup, a brand new tank, and a passion to have a blue light special - a glowy neon tank, and he stood out to me right away.

I reached out to him and gave him advice, guidance, and offered lessons learned based on all my years of keeping reef tanks. What I liked, is that he listens, retains, and applies! And, he’s just a great guy that stands out to me from anyone else in my life.

Working together on coral selection, care, placement, and general tank tips, you would never guess he’s in his first year Reefing. I’m proud of his tank, his progress, and to have gained his friendship.

I made this for him the other day as a reminder of his progress and to let him know I’m truly proud - this tank has a great foundation, excellent coral selection, and is on track to grow into something that people with years more of experience would be envious of.

What a lovely story of friendship built through this amazing addiction... I mean hobby...

This is why I prefer Reef Cleaners.
I'm gonna put some money in my Venmo and buy from them soon. Ceriths, fighting conchs, trochus and I think that's it
