pretty good. i had a salinity spike that im trying to ease down. has a few things grumpy i think. my tank kinda got neglected the last while due to some family drama ive been trying to deal with. as much as i love my tank when it comes to the people i care about, nothing else matters. but im trying to get things back to where they should be :smiling-face:

Luis, do you think something like this would help you achieve your goals. Maybe the HOG models? Some very successful reefers run these upflow algae scrubbers. It'll be my next big purchase for the tank.

The pump is pretty small on the ones that I use I will take it with me when I go to buy something to make sure it fits.

Even an antique pickle fermenter. Those were a 4 gallons ceramic bucket with ceramic lid. Would give the area character.

Highly recommend to keep N and P in check. I have one for my new build.

I was looking at that brand but another model to put on top of the sump but I can't decide.

You can get that and save some cash by building the "pole" yourself. I think it is just 2" PVC... may be 1 1/2". I'll have to measure mine. It's still in the box waiting on my tank to arrive.

If you don't use the pole mount, you can get a plastic cutting board, drill the return line hole and set the cutting board across your sump.

Yes there are several models and capabilities for whichever application you would need it for, and they are tailored to the amount of feeding you do. I think vintagereefer got in on the ground floor of this company as far as talking to them and I know he runs one.

I'm not real big on chaeto reactors. I think that an algae scrubber is more efficient because GHA and slime algae take in nutrients faster than chaeto does and need less space to grow. I'd look at a drop-in scrubber. I don't remember, without looking for it, what size your tank is but I am thinking I remember it as being in the 30-40 gallon range.

I'm considering a Santa Monica Filtration Drop1.4 for my tank to replace the refugium and then remove the skimmer.

All of this talk about mounting corals has forced me to actually do a little reef work. I got the plug splitter to put the pump and UV-C on the same outlet and plugged it in and I cleaned and peroxided a chunk of STAX rock for the favia. I'll move it onto the rock tomorrow as I want most of the peroxide to dissipate first. I figured out where I'll mount the digi and will do it right after the favia.
