Phew caught up here and posted pics and updates on my pico thread. I had to take my son to Asheville to sirens the weekend with his aunts and uncles and cousins that took a huge part of my evening is an hour there and an hour back. He's going to be getting his license soon and I'm going to miss driving him places because we laugh and talk a lot on trips.

Luis.
That does look like a Maggie muffler or a variation.
I tried to get mine out but can't.
So.
Mine is 1 inch.
I put a two inch piece of of pvc in a t, put an elbow on the t,then installed a cap on it.
I drilled a hole in the cap just big enough for a piece of airline.
I stuck that whole thing in the box.
Killed about 70 percent of the noise.
Start with the valve, play with it a bit and adjust your pump speed as well.
You'll get to a point where it's pretty much silent.
Just remember to adjust the valve and pump very slowly or you will keep passing your sweet spot.
