What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
So here's my truck story. This is a truck my dad fell in love with when he was working for the man that owned it repairing rental properties. If memory serves me it's a special order that has I think the same engine a corvette has or something like that. When I was in my early 30s I had a bad wreck in which I was rear ended. Long story short when all was said and done I had some money left after getting myself another car. I called the man that owned the truck and asked him if he might want to sell it and he said yes and I offered him what I had and he accepted. My mom and I did all this without my dad knowing. The day I went to pick it up we told my dad I needed to borrow his truck to go get a table I bought at a thrift store. When we came back I went in and told him I was really sorry I had wrecked his truck a little bit. He of course asked if I was ok then asked how bad it was and I told him he'd just have to come out to see it. I will never forget the look in his face when he walked outside and said that's not my truck that's so and so's truck. I said not anymore it's your truck and handed him the keys. He was so surprised and tried to tell me I shouldn't spend my money on him like that. I was so very happy that day it felt amazing to do something so wonderful for a man that gave everything for his family. Sorry this is a lot longer than i meant it to be... When my sweet daddy passed away the truck came back to me and then when my oldest turned 18 I gave it to him and he plans on one day restoring it.

Hi everyone! Busy evening for me finally got a chance to get a video of the little hair like creatures in my pico. They look like little individual hairs and don't appear to be connected together. What does everyone think they are?

Im still going with a filter feeder

I don't mix social media in for the most part. Everyone's so polarized nowadays, I keep R2R as an oasis from all that stuff lol as is i use R2R way more than any social media
Same here. I've never had ig or Facebook. I'm definitely not someone that thinks people shouldn't have social media. A lot of people really enjoy it, I totally get that. It's just not for me. I keep my life fairly private. I just couldn't help but immediately feel amongst family here. This thread is by far the most I've shared in an online community.

Are they good or bad?
Not good nor bad. They are pretty much harmless, but can sting so if they touch a coral it may hurt the coral, but their stings aren't really that strong. They should go away on their own.

However, I'm not 100% confident that what you are seeing are digitate hydroids.

We are so glad to have you! I'm so thankful for this big family we have here.

Thanks man! It's been a huge project. Unfortunately the motor(that I pulled out of a 95) lost the rear main seal after it's first maiden voyage and leaks terrible now. Gotta pull it out now so deciding if I want to do a refresher on the motor while I'm at it. So currently she just sits. Maybe this summer will be the summer lol
The best part is, you have the chassis and frame! Is that the straight 6 or the 5.0/302?

Thanks Amanda, it has been an amazing experience that I wasn't expecting.

Here's some pictures for you...
I'm not much help here, but I did look and try to figure it out. I agree with Walker and Luis. I've tried to make it aiptasia, but I just can't quite convince myself of that. Probably a harmless filter feeder.

Thanks for sharing that story. I remember seeing my Dad's truck after he passed. That reminded me of him more than anything. I could only imagine how happy you made him that day.

Looking good in certain places. I'm still concerned about all the euphyllia.

Dude ( does that make me seem young?), you’re like me. 95% of everything looks fabulous and you just focus on the 5%. Your tank is rocking!

The best part is, you have the chassis and frame! Is that the straight 6 or the 5.0/302?
It was originally the straight six but the previous owner swapped it with a 302w out of a 79 i believe. I swapped it with a newer 302w that would have a roller cam and and wasn't smoking

The older i get, the less I use my social media. It seems like it's starting to have the playground mentality where everyone wants to go out and fight behind the monkey bars ya know? I just want to love my life in peace and grow some corals lol
