Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
@kevgib67 Would you mind sharing the black worm food again Kevin? No rush.
I wonder if we could raise them like the white worms?
You know that’s a big ask, I’m in my new recliner, blanket on drinking a cold one!

You're family was a quarter of the crowd lol. What a Blessing Wes
You should have seen my wife cracking the whip that morning to make everyone help get ready for company! But yes, it was a great day.

You can, but they have to be cultured in fresh water. Paul B used to culture them in a small aquarium. He described his method in his book.

What did he feed them ? Back when I raised discus we got them live with not so decent water quality . Always had to rinse thoroughly.

In a good way, keeping the kids on track.

Would have loved to have been there, woulda been a blast.
What a party that would have been my goodness 😳

We only had 4 this year.
Mellowest Thanksgiving we've ever had.
I made turkey, taters, gravy, cranberry sauce and stuffing.
That's it.
First time in over 30 years I didn't make a dessert.

They eat bacteria. He said he would establish the tank with a population of microbes, using "egg crate" as a surface multiplier. Then he said he fed them paper towels pieces and occasional instant potato flakes

The bacteria I get , what’s the paper towel for ?

Apparently they eat the paper towels pieces, or more likely bacteria populate the paper and break it down and are consumed by the worms. Quote "...worms just love rotting paper towels. I have no idea why."

Internal parasites were alway a problem in discus , is it no problems in salt water fish ?
