What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
we've had a few no power for a week storms in the past 10 years. probably due again. had to drive 30 minutes to get gas for generator. things to note when this happens, wood fired pizza restaurants. found that out in Atlanta with a tornado. had no power so we called for pizza. they took the order and said nothing. showed up and they were cooking by flashlight in a wood fired pizza oven. went to pay and credit card machines were also down. so only people that showed up with cash paid for pizza that night. no ATM's worked either. couldn't even give the peeps a tip.
That's my biggest concern with the push to make everything electric. Power goes out, you've got zip. When we had a house in MA first thing I bought was a wood stove. We needed it the very first winter. I really can't remember a winter we didn't need it at least once.

Good tip on on the wood-fired pizza joints but I don't think I've seen one locally, just in case we get a Nor'easter.

Now, tumbleweed-fired, that I could probably find although they burn pretty quick, hot but quick.

Yes, I told her it was just me, that’s when the biggest smile came and she began to glow. It reminded me of the time I was in ICU and was intubated and no one thought I could hear them and the doctor told my wife she should start making plans for funeral arrangements. After a scream of joy and after hugging the doctor I heard her call my life insurance that she had on speed dial. She’s never been the same since I pulled through until I announced I was moving to Mississippi!
We could always just bring Mississippi to her! Of course "shrimp lady" might not go over so well if I bring her too 😬

but we have seasons. that's what I would miss the most. and did when I left for a while. Trees, Fall, Snow, Thunderstorms, hurricanes etc..I've been almost everywhere in US and think here is the best. Nothing beats coastal New England. I think I'd just leave the states entirely next. which I had done for a stint and loved it. (Sweden).
When a place makes you feel like that, tjat's when it's home.

I've been prepared always so it isn't bad for me. I don't keep gas in the generator so thats part of the extra work. the propane ones though are like 20 years. I just have to 5 gal can with gas in them. I no longer cut the grass so every 4 months or so I dump the gas into the gas vehicle and refresh the can for the generators. the other car is electric. I had looked into many times getting solar panels or even just a lot of batteries to power the house but this house isn't efficient for that. we have dual powered stuff, gas and electric. started with propane. then switched to natural gas. so furnace, oven and fireplace is natural gas and hot water and AC is electric. can't cut the source here easily without a huge upfront expense.

Pizza sounds great. We just may go that route ourselves.
We had Rumbi's. Sweet pork burrito, chips and salsa, churro chips, and a Dr Pepper.

Ever seen a Salt Cedar go up in flames? Those burn quick and hot as well, even when they're green.

Heck yeah! Break out the drink cooler and turn on the music! A good fire is always an excuse for a party.

That looks more like some kind of weird ritual lol

@kevgib67 Great news about your cbb Kevin. She eats like a horse! Have you tried baby brine (Nauplii) for her yet?

Riptide confirmed the rock flowers are arriving Tuesday! Im putting them pretty close together, I hope the porcelain crab gets in them.

Yes, I’ve been dosing fresh hatched 2-3 times a day. I haven’t had a porcelain crab not move into a RFA and not make it it’s personal home.

which on in the gif is Tim? is he getting pulled out of the fire?
That's CB. Tim is the one that saved her.
Not all heroes wear capes, but most wear beards.

Yes! Then ill just give em to you! We'd probably drink too much scotch, and I'd end up acclimating the nems in the toilet or something.

or I'll just swap out a couple with my BTA's
Do you regret the BTAs Paul? My son has a beautiful one that Becky gave to him at a frag swap. I’ve avoided them due to them multiplying. I said to my son this morning I hope his doesn’t split, I would be tempted.

The latest email ad from Bluetti was interesting, they listed the best uses for various battery setups and one of the recommended uses for the Fridge Power with a Bluecell 200 was a fish tank.

I am thinking about investing in a solar panel for the Elite 100 and maybe a fridge power connected to our fridge. We rarely have outages and when we do they are rarely more than a couple of hours so whole house seems like overkill. I try to keep a mix of technologies so one shortage or failure doesn't take down everything.

no, has nice color. split in the beginning but stopped. I think it's a rainbow but not sure. I'd hand them out but afraid I'd kill them trying to remove. they seem happy.
