Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I’ve noticed that too. Didn’t want to call it out though as I think I’m a contributing factor- to much health stuff vs reefing. I have made an effort not to be that person but you all are so kind in checking in on me I sometimes get too detailed.

Kev, I’m being serious here so no dad jokes ok.

Joel created a whole space for a diverse group of people to come together and have fun but also be reef-centric I believe.

So I’m making some big assumptions here, but the reality is we have been losing some regulars to other threads. And to clarify that- we should be visiting other threads and learning differently, laughing differently, etc.
Jen, yesterday Kev and I were joking about it, nothing to do with someone being gone or anything, it just happened that Kevin and I were connected at that moment and the joke came out on its own, I myself pass by every day the threads of everyone in this family, what happens is that maybe I don't write because that trust that I have with the members here I don't have it yet with the members of the other threads but that is gained little by little, I am the most new here but you have created such a familiar space here that I don't think anyone is going to be upset, let alone leave, because you or anyone else tells us how they are progressing with whatever situation they have.

So sad now! My heater in my QT tank malfunctioned over night and my beautiful chocolate tang, tomani tang and my Exquisite didn't make it. The others aren't looking great...
I'm so sorry Amanda, I know it's late but let me see if I can find you the link to a thermometer that I have that you set some temperature alarms on and it starts beeping when it gets there, that's what woke me up the other day the tank was at 73°

I ordered another ink bird controller for it but will look at the link for the one you send me as I can still cancel the order I placed if need be. I did a small water change this morning with cooler water and the scopias was looking better before I left for work. I also found my beautiful carpenter wrasse dead. Hopefully the others will recover.

The inkbird control is better because it is a thermometer and controller at the same time, I bought mine when I didn't know about the inkbird but now when I change the heater I am going to buy one, anyway my thermometer has never failed, but the inkbird is better because control the heater, mine is just a thermometer

Really can’t go wrong with an Inkbird. Do they fail sometimes, yeah, they do. But nothing is full proof.

It was just murphys’ law again - the one you didn’t have a controller on…. Ugh.

I know you were so excited about the wrasse…

I was joking Jen, it was just one of those nights, people were busy, tired or just not in the mood. We all know your situation and you get a free pass. Once you are home fand feeling better I know you will be on here all the time sharing your wisdom, humor and encouragement. When I’m on other threads and feel a connection with someone I invite them to join us here. I think there are a couple here because of it. I invited Someone a couple days ago and checked on @Fishy Guy yesterday. People get busy, sick or are going through a rough time in their personal life or with their tank.

I forgot you used to live in Mexico! Thanks Amanda, how are your new animals doing this morning?

Sadly my heater in my QT tank malfunctioned over night and I have lost 4 of my beautiful little ones so far. I have ordered another ink bird so hopefully it won't ever happen again.
