What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
@WalkerLovesTheOcean
Hope you are feeling better today!
Thank you! I am. I think I may have just caught a cold in St. Louis. Last night was rough, but I think it was mostly because I was dehydrated, tired and car sick. This morning after a good night's sleep and chugging water, I feel much better.

In the fuge should I go with sand to put the algae I order in? Or attach it to rubble?
Either way.
Depends on what you have.
I have fine sand and Aragonite, small rock.
I floated cheato till it melted, mangroves are floating but some are rooted.
So either way.

Don't have any yet but was thinking about the pretty micro algeas that don't need to tumble like cheato does.

Good morning Jill, how old is your tank? What other algae has shown up since you started your tank? Not knowing the age of your tank and just looking at the picture I would say diatoms, self limiting and will go away even if you don’t do anything as soon as the silicates they feed on are depleted. If you don’t like the look, copepods will eat them and speed up the process.
its a few years old. ive had a rash of them before and i think it was in the same spot! and youre right. they vanished on their own. i have copepods for the mandarin. but i think ill go buy another bottle ;)

Not sure if it's good or bad but I officially show up on the "Notable Members" as #5 for "Most Messages"
Where do I find these "notable members"?

That means you guys gotta get to liking my posts people!

Well, it's official... Another project that a different department refused to do got pushed on me and my crew. I asked about how we're paying for it and they said they'd find the money. Apparently they found the money... I can just use my O&M funds to pay for it.

Think of it as job security... maybe that will help it be less frustrating?
It's not though. As the supervisor it's my job to ensure we're successful throughout the year. When they take my operating funds to pay for other projects, I can't complete my own projects. This is the second time this fiscal year (started July 1) that they've made me take my crew, my materials, and my O&M funds to fix something for a different department. That means I now have to perform my annual workload technically in less time and for less money.
