What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Beginning to get a little worried, over 24 hours and I haven’t seen my wrasse , I’m thinking of filling a missing person report. I no you all said it was normal but I can’t help it. Worried about Joel I’m afraid he had a train wreck of a day or worse yet has a life and doing something fun and this forum and reefing has taken a back seat.
For real, my Garnoti stayed in the sand for almost 3 weeks when I first got her.

nice! thats what i use. whats your reason for changing?
Honestly?
It only takes 20 minutes to mix and that's going to bring me some peace.
Got a great price and I only have softies and parameters match mine.

Good morning everyone! Today is water change day for me. Is there any reason you guys know of that I couldn't just drain the sump and refill it for a water change? It would be I think around 30 gallons of water maybe less.

It's water change weekend for me too, I can't help you much with taking out all the water from the sump since I don't have a sump, but what I've read that people do is take out the water from the DT and add the new water to the sump

You can....
Much easier to take from display and refill either display or sump.

Make sure it's heated and salinity is matched

Well said Walker!
Also a great time to test new water and see what you are really putting back in your tank. ;)
I've been happy with regular IO but it never tests what it says (I went to public school) so I'm going with Red Sea blue bucket this week for fun.

Yes I'm in the process of doing that right now hopefully the temp will get there soon. I have already done 4 of my freshwater tanks and rescaped the one my axolotl Luna is in.
