Maybe I'm just being overly sensitive (or maybe they are) but I'm curious on everyone's thoughts here....

I work a 50+ hour week most weeks so my wife can stay home and homeschool my kids. I come home from work and start contributing at home.

My wife (and kids) will look at me after they did something and expect me to say "Thank you for cleaning your bedroom" or "Thank you for hanging up your clothes" or "Thank you for cooking dinner tonight" but no one says "Thank you for going to work today so we could afford this dinner I cooked or these clothes I hung up or this room I usually keep messy but cleaned a little today".

Ok, rant over.

You are 100% in the right, Tim. Both you and your wife are working very hard. Both of you should be thankful for the hard work the other does. You should not be the only one having to say thank you. IMO you all should be thanking eachother for the work they do, including them thanking you when you enter the door for all the work you did that day.

You're not being overly sensitive imo. I'm right there with you brother. It's a Blessing and a curse in a way to be so dependable. No one has to wonder if your going to hit your marks. They know you will as sure as the sun will rise. But even the sun needs to be told that it's still bright once in a while.

I've been there my friend. My wife just started working almost 5 years after Jason was born (I'm not complaining, it's been beautiful to see her enjoy everything I couldn't with Jason because of 2 and sometimes 3 jobs, his first word, his first tooth......) but hey, that's a story for another day. What I can tell you is that a good and on time talk can solve anything.

They really should let you know they appreciate you. My husband does a lot for me and I always tell him thank you even though he tells me it's his job to take care of me and I don't have to thank him. I have had relationships where I did it all and never felt appreciated and I never want him to feel that way. Just my 2 cents...

I just finished programming my radios. Between my in-laws and I, we have 12 radios for when the 5 of us go hunting. They should all now be programmed to the same channels. Yippee!
