My husband said the same thing. He said maybe I don't need to be climbing in tree stands anymore because his heart can't take it. I scared him as much as it did me I'm just really glad he had walked to the stand with me to make sure I could get up in it because I'm still sore. Normally he just drops me off and i go climb up in them by myself. He said from now on he's always going to go with me to make sure I get up in them safely.

Good morning peeps, taking it easy and watching college football all day. Buckeyes at noon and then I want to watch Indiana spank Michigan at 3:30 ( sorry @Linlox ). Oh, the one thing I’m going to do is make Irish Guinness beef stew for the first time. I got almost everything prepped yesterday and it should take just under 3 hours. I’ll keep you updated, I’ll try to make you proud Joel.

wait.... a michigander transplanted to ohio is rooting for indiana???? But i always root for the bears and cubs so who knows. When i was a kid, didnt know what a packer was and it certainly was not as cool as a bear or even a lion! However, wolverines do beat badgers on coolness, but its close. This is how I chose my sports teams when i was 5 years old, and still do lol

You were a smart young man! I’m pretty sure a nut ( Buckeye) is cooler and could beat a bear, cub, badger and wolverine. They are vicious and could probably give a honey badger a run for its money. :zany-face:

We do steaks lightly seasoned or hamburgers lightly seasoned. My wife and kids actually like the flavor of deer.

Good morning everyone. I got a doe for the freezer yesterday afternoon after a very scary incident envolving a tree stand that I was in falling right as I was getting ready to climb into the seat area. So thankful my husband was still at the base of the stand and the good Lord gave him the strength to hold me and the stand both up until I managed to climb back down. If I had fallen all the way I would have fallen about 20ft and been really hurt or worse because there are lots of big rocks and trees that I would have hit on the way down. Can I get a recap of yesterday from our group? Internet is slow here.

Similar situation happened to a friend of ours elk hunting. Me and my father-in-law walked her up to the tree stand, the stand tipped and she fell. I caught her before she hit the boulder at the base of the tree. She was pretty shook up and decided she was ground blind hunting after that.

Good thing you were there! We went back to it after the morning hunt and my nephew climbed up in it and screwed it into the tree with 8 really strong screws then he jumped up and down in it a bit and wiggled it as hard as he could and it didn't budge so I think it's safe now. My husband also used a hammer to drive the teeth of the grippers into the tree. I don't think I will get in it this trip as I'm still pretty sore.

Does are illegal in Arizona. We get 1 bucks per year regardless of method of take and our rifle hunts are lottery style.

I did take a shot at that buck last night - 350 yards. I hit about a foot left, right in front of him. Took a second shot and same thing. Checked my rifle later and it was shooting about 2' left at 300 yards. Dialed it in for tonight hopefully!

In Georgia we are allowed 2 bucks and 10 does.

1 buck, 1 elk, 1 turkey, 2 javelina. Several squirrels, ducks, quail, dove, and rabbit. I can do pheasant but it's a long drive for 2 of them. Same with Partridge and Grouse. 10 of those a day but it's about a 6 hour drive.

I could go visit my aunt and uncle in Missouri. Their county is up to 7 I believe. 1 any deer and 6 antlerless. The "Any Deer" has to fit certain criteria if you shoot a buck.

our quotas and limits change alot and by which area of the state your in and if your northern or southern zone. Know i can tag one antlered with bow and one antlered with rifle. State tried to ban antlerless in my part of the state cause the wolves are decimating the herds but it didn't pass, and antlerless tags are first come first serve until sold out.
Bear, elk, fisher and spring turkey are lottery's.
