Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Nicrew are really good lights
I ended up moving my reef led 50 over to it yesterday but that's good to know incase I decide to setup another pico in the future. I have used nicrew for years for freshwater tanks.

I woke up to this, although February is in our rear view mirror, Mother Nature isn’t going anywhere soon!

I feel you brother. Michigan is the same. I live somewhat close to you...lol
I'm south of Lansing. Couple hours...is..uhh...kind of close.

Do RFAs change colors sometimes? I'm not very happy with the colors of the two I got Friday as I fell their colors are very blah and I tight RFAs are always really colorful. It's my fault I guys because I got mystery ones instead of as picking them out.
Usually not. Green tends to stay green, red...red...they may color up a little bit. They are beautiful none the less!

I just wonder if i should up my lighting. I have one of my hammers about a third of the way up my rockscape and it seems happy, that said, I hear of people putting them in the sand bed. Where my frag rack is it seemed like it wasn't happy but as soon as I moved it, it puffed right back up like it was extremely happy.
Do you an idea what your PAR is at now?

My husband is an electrician and he said something that's plugged up has a short in it if they have been plugged up for a while without any issues before.
so check for limpets etc...?

Put on 5 sheets of the brown parchment paper and pull them off one

There are nothing wrong with your lights. They seem to be very nice lights from what I can tell. I'd just say if you have to go in 10% increments DEFINITELY space them out.
Agreed. Bump up your lights but then wait a week or two before going higher. The corals need time to acclimated so you don't bleach them

Good morning Smorg family!
Sitting here with coffee in hand, waiting for the lights to turn on for my little piece of the ocean. Also, waiting for Amazon to drop off the Orphek lens kit so I can hopefully get some decent pics of my critters in my glass box!

Oh jeez, you all were busy bees last night. I’ll be back in a couple hours to interact when I’m all caught up.

Spent all my life traveling to Michigan. I was born in Grand Rapids but we moved before I remember much. Both of my parents were from Cadillac. I have a lot of family up there. I was last up there in 2023 for my cousins son’s wedding and again, with my dad, in 2020 to small mouth bass fish with a guide on Lake Saint Claire and spent the rest of the week in Grand Rapids. As a Ohio State University graduate my family has been giving me a lot of crap for many years, all in fun.

I can't remember exactly when Big John started walking. I think he was born already talking, but I can tell you this...

He won his first fishing rodeo at 5.

I just had to change out the battery in my truck... It made it a whole year and a half.
I need to change out my truck, its made it a whole 25 years

so check for limpets etc...?
He said the way he would do it is start unplugging stuff one by one to see if that will show you which one has a short. He's not here right now but my thoughts are also if it only happened one time could it possibly have just been a surge in electricity to your house for some reason and the surge protector did what is supposed to do and cut off?

not sure why but my tank tripped the power hub circuit yesterday morning. last night at 2am it tripped the main circuit since I heard the alarms going off. nothing else had been plugged into this circuit. thoughts on what to look for? the light was already off last night. so running would be the mightyjet, sicce 5.0 for the skimmer, heater and ATO.
Any way to check the amperage in the breaker cables, if more amperage is coming in than the breaker has, it is a bad equipment, if less is coming in it is the breaker that is bad, I would start from there
