Thanks, it is like that for about an hour in the morning (9 till 10 am) then the Primes and Blades start to cycle up and the Meridian starts to go brighter and bluer. By 2pm the tank is Windex-city. I'm actually trying to shift the balance a little more daylight slowly.

Here is the tank just an hour and forty-five minutes later (also unfiltered).

A piece of a pond liner would work or any heavy rubberized/plastic material really

I just got mine from Amazon. But ordering ice rink liner in Phoenix might send up a flag! All it really is is 6mil plastic poly that's white to reflect sun since black heats up and melts the ice.

There really is no harm in that. I think some of the things you hear in a reefing community are based off one person's opinion and people just run with it. Example being nutrients, 10 years ago people were all about ultra low nutrients, now you have people running very successful reefs with 15-20 NO3, sometimes higher and as much as 0.10 PO4.

what alarm is that one? Is that wifi?

I use this setup
It’s the wifi base station and you can get it with 2, 4, or more leak sensors

I chose 4, and put extras by my washing machine, and in the emergency drip tray under my attic mounted hvac unit.

I like that they can detect water from above or below, and they have a 105db siren built in. The system is also expandable to other modules, I have a temp sensor in a garage freezer and it will give me an alert if the temp gets pasty set point.

i have been nursing 13 to 10 no3 and 1.0 po4 for a few weeks and tank has been pristine

I ran this current tank .02 - .05 for a year, and now it’s been running around .30 - .50 phosphates for the last year

Honestly, I feel the colors are better with the higher phosphate. I try to stay in .30 - .40

My nitrates are 9-10

You did say the Meridians can go more white right? I do NOT like a heavy blue tank. I run my two Kessil a360x at 40% color during peak hours which is about 14K. Even on my ramp up and down I have whites added. If not, I will be selling my brand new, never used Meridian 35 and either getting another Kessil or go back to halides.

The Meridian can go white also. Maybe not pure white like a 10k halide, but you can get a 14k halide look

I turned off my bars. This is Meridian 11’s only. A white dominant spectum I made quickly in the app with a touch of blue mixed in.

The party trick comes in with the 14k bars
The bars have individual white and blues controls, and can add a ton more white, but also more blues and violet to balance.

It doesn’t photograph completely accurately. But this is a bunch of various blues on the meridian and then medium white on the bars, and small amount of blue on the bars. In person this is awesome. The tank is bright! You can see everywhere. The sand is white. The corals still pop a lot of color from the blue and violet and uv channels. But the tank isn’t that blue dominated look in person.

If you look at the frag plugs, you’ll see they come out natural color. The camera doesn’t capture the overall look correct, but this is what I would call a crisp 14k halide look, with a touch of actinic added in.
