What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Good morning Smorg! Slept in like I haven’t done in decades, eleven hours of sleep! I would think I was becoming a teenager again if I didn’t feel bad.
I hope you start to feel better soon.

Good morning Smorg.
I wasn't on much yesterday. I was teaching a self defense class at work. I teach a full day course once a month and then a 4 hour refresher course every three months for those who have taken the full day program.
My self defense would be shoot them... or kick them where it counts then shoot them if they are too close...

Beans are done heading to do errands but wanted to share this happy ending. I helped my neighbor family adopt this precious little girl today! Her name is Belle and she's 4 years old. The little boy and little girl as well as the dad had been so very sad since their last little dog that they had for several years got out of the house and got hit by a car a little over a week ago. I told them when they were ready I would help them get another because dad's on disability and mom's not in the picture. I found her earlier this week and helped him with the application and then gave them the adoption fee so they could go meet her today and it was love at first sight for all of them!

I got sent the WRONG hanging kit for my 2nd ReefLED 90. Waiting on my dad too help me hang the other from the ceiling as it is setup. Bit nervous because the cable is not long at all and so I have a feeling the kessils may perform better due to there ability to actually be mounted.

spent some time looking at algae scrubbers...wow pricy and they all look good but my brain say I can improve on them. anybody have one .??? Please share your likes or dislikes of it...
I have one that I DIY'ed. I had it in the sump at first but it was causing too much water loss through droplet splashing, so I made it remote by placing it in a tote next to the tank stand. My wife covered the tote in burlap and put a lamp on it. Inside are two acrylic trays, they are set at an angle with holes drilled along the bottom edge. A small pump delivers water to pvc pipe at the top with holes drilled so that water runs down the first tray into the second tray and then into the bottom of the tote. From there it drains into the sump through another pipe. Each tray is divided across the middle by a strip of plastic. I lay scraps of burlap in the individual compartments to provide a rough surface for algae to grow on. Cheap submersible lights are fastened to the bottom of the lid and the bottom of the first tray. Problem is, it's big. It kind of blends in with our decor, but it would stick out like sore thumb with some types of decor.

On the positive side, total cost was maybe $40

Edit: Forgot the bulkhead, maybe $50

I just think no home is complete without a pet to love.

Even trade. Big ole mean HotLips for this clown goby with the strange head lol. Or maybe it’s just skinny and sneers some food. Either way I will love it and care for it and name it George.

I won’t name it George. But it’ll need a name eventually

And why not name it George? Do you have something against people named George? 🤣

My son has one in his tank and it surprises me how much open water swimming it does compared to perching. Beautiful fish Bev.
