Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
That was kind of you
They are so good to me, they know my voice when I call, will order me anything I ask for if they can, give me store credit for frags when I tell them they don’t need to. I like to help a a new small vendor like FishScooper get off the ground.

In that case than I will also say NC is better. The only thing I think that vinegar should be used for is pickles...
And laundry...

Can’t say I’ve had one from a cast iron but I’ve seen it done on the food network and the searing keeps the juices in. I’d eat a ribeye that was cooked on Tim’s driveway without hesitation.
Cook mine in a cast iron pan when/if I have a steak.

Cast iron all the way. If someone knows how to cook steak in a cast iron, they’re going to do it well. Can’t say the same about a grill, as that’s most peoples go to. Just Chuck it on and have the flames char it black and overcooked lol
Totally agree.
I've not had a grill/BBQ for the last 25 years but I have the same cast iron pans I've had since college in the 90's.

I do grill and iron. But pending on what steak cut. I have a low lip skillet cast iron that I seer rib eye on and then finish it in the oven under low heat. But flank steak I just singe on the grill.

Any one here running a Reef Mat 500 or 1200? I don't want to use filter socks on my new build. I don't use them now, but... the sump I have uses socks, but I plan of modifying it to run a fleece roller.
No.
Only rock and skimmer for me.
Those mats seem like overkill to me and something I'm sure I would break.

I was at a historic restaurant in Ohio called the Spread Eagle Tavern ( google it) and they had horseradish mashed potatoes. I was in love and often mix it into my smashed potatoes. Don’t knock it till you try it!
Had those on my menu for years.
Love horseradish.
The bomb.
Only way to make cocktail sauce, which I love too.

I cooked a prime rib, medium rare for Christmas. Bought from a local butcher, not a big box store, most expensive cut of meat i've ever bought. Came out AMAZING. My wife and my step mom had meat cut their's and fry it in a pan after it was done 😫😭
I used to run prime rib Friday's at the Cafe until I couldn't justify the cost and had to do this all the time.
I would cook one just below med rare and so many people wanted it well done.
Blew my mind.
Bunch of dummies paying $30 for well done prime dinner goodness...
