This really affects me. I work with people who have killed relatives who were really close to them, and trying to help them. My mind immediately goes to this guy killing his wife because of a paranoid delusion.

So many times, especially back then, the only way certain people had a voice was through their music. The blues culture, especially, was built on that. And I believe a good storyteller can invoke that pain and emotion with their songs. There are songs that instantly make me laugh, cry, or feel some emotion. Like you I've learned that if any of it makes me feel a way that I don't want to feel, Ill just avoid it and leave it for those that can relate.

I have no idea if it would work but what if you placed a dehumidifier near the tank if you have one and just run it till you get salt? I think I read on here once that in a pinch, you could add table salt if it was not iodized? but I still would not want to try it. Any salt creep you can try scraping back into the sump?

I would just leave it alone. 1.020 isn't low enough to need emergency measures. Some LFSs run 1.014 as a 'quarantine' procedure.

I am the same way with music. There are songs that just make me feel too much so I don't listen to them sometimes it's the lyrics and sometimes it's just the music.

I'm not sure if the dehumidifier would help or not. Air movement across the water surface is the most effective method of inducing evaporation. Increasing aeration can also help, a bubbler or an open skimmer for example.

If you do decide to raise the salinity by adding salt, don't do it directly to the tank. Make up sw at an elevated s.g., maybe 1.030 then use it for a water change. Quickly raising the salinity is in many ways worse than lowering it quickly.

I think I just crashed my reef.

I was filling the ATO chamber and forgot about it. Sump over full, salinity at 1.020 :(

My salt won’t be here for awhile, absolutely no funds, no shops within distance if I HAD funds and no way to get there if I did have the rest of the stuff. Sigh.

Reading online the fish will be ok, as long as they’re healthy. ATO and skimmer shut off and I’m just going to leave it to fate.

Also, I’d only be comfortable with anyone getting me some salt if you’d let me paint for you. I have some small canvasses and as long as it’s nothing too complicated, I could do it.

That is just a normal reaction to a rapid osmotic change. They will most likely be fine.

A nem is basically a bag of water. If you change the osmotic pressure on the outside of the nem it must deflate and then slowly reflate to stay in osmotic balance.
