Just a poll. What temp does everyone prefer in their tanks?

With my controller set at 79 the tank runs 77.8 to 78.6. Set to 78 it seems to run 77.4 to 77

Mine goes from 77 to 80 over the day.

Oh ok so that much of a fluctuation wouldnt be a big deal and 77.8 to 78.6 is probably perfect.

I use an Inkbird wifi controller and I set mine to 77.5 to 78 it usually takes around 30 mins to an hour to heat up between those two points and then 30 mins to an hour to cool down. I also have the inkbird plugged into my Hydros which turns it off if it reaches 80 degrees ever. My Hygger 100W heater controller plugged into my heater is set at 80 atm. That being said I may change it to 79 since I just got a UV plugged in which will likely heat the tank as well. Also if my temp drops too low with the inkbird it alerts me at 76.5 and my Hydros will do the same as well for redundancy sake. (I would likely not use Hygger controller but I am not sure the heater works without it and it was hard to find a heater that fit in the back compartment of my return pump section).

In my other tank my heater is set at 80 and I just have an inkbird set to 77.5 to 78 as well. I like doing it this way because if the inkbird fails and keeps it running then the heater will still turn off at 80.

No, I get the big ones in the summer, my tank has been running for over 4 years.

Perfect John.
During the summer I have a fluctuation of 3 to 4 degrees, sometimes more.
Depends on if we run the ac during the day or not.

That's great info. Thanks for this. Mine is the hygger 100w titanium set to 79. I have it in a 40 and probably should've went with the 200w. I dont have an inkbird and didnt want to overheat the tank
