personally I think you would be OK. I think the rule is 4 hours everything turns south without oxygen. I use the air bubblers every time I go away as a back up. I put in DM and sump. but I picked up a bluetti battery back up now so I still need to try that out to see how long it will run my pump. as for heat, what temp do you keep the house at?

the house is usually at 66-68 degrees

I have a question, was wondering if anyone had experience-

I am getting my electrical service upgraded and my house power will be cut off for at least 5 hours..besides getting a battery powered bubbler, should I wrap the tank in blankets? Will it be fine for 5 hours? My house holds heat pretty well.

Good morning Mike! It should be fine but if you notice the temp dropping to an uncomfortable temp you could warm up some water ( gas stove) and place it in a freezer zip lock storage bag and float it.

I never lose heat quickly. but if you're concerned it doesn't hurt to wrap it. I'd probably get the styrofoam insulation and tape it to into a box around the tank if you were really concerned. leave a hole at the top though for air exchange. I lose power a lot here and my main concern was just to keep the main pump running. so I've been running it on a APC UPS for 2 years. runs the pump for 2 hours which gives me time to set up the generator to the house. but the battery backup will allow me to shut the loud generator off at night so I can go to bed. if you get a battery backup with ups you just need to be aware that some require you to manually turn the power back on if the battery gets drained.

Thank you my friend I'm getting there just can't seem to get rid of the sinus junk but it's better than it was.

did they ever say what it was? I got hit with coated throat that happened in like 3 hours to the point I lost my voice. then nasal congestion and took pseudoephedrine for 5 days over Christmas. but I too seem to have retained some congestion. wasn't covid. no other symptoms. so not flu. I think just sinus head cold for dryness. apparently causing me to snore like crazy (so I'm told).

I tested negative for everything but I don't think the lab tech did the test right because they are suppose to put the swab up in your nose and move it around for 10 seconds she barley put it in my nose and then took it out. My body to me felt like it was the flu and then I got bronchitis. I was on antibiotics for a week for the bronchitis. Have you tried running a humidifier it might help you some.

yeah, I ran the humidifier straight through New Years. December is always really dry here. But I have been thinking to start it up again since I feel dry again.Really I should open all the windows for several hours instead. 39% humidity inside and 98% outside right now. but's it's 32 degrees out.
