Oh man, we do shrimp boils and add beer to the water... dump in shrimp, corn on the cob, potatoes, kielbasa... SO good...

just finished dinner. I cooked my tenderloin tips separate from the kids so I could generously season it with Brazilian steak.

Do you guys think I should add the light I won a while back to my 125? I currently have two red sea 90's on it and the light I won is the 4ft Orphek light. My concern is I don't know if it would be too much light with the extra light bar and the light bar would just have to lay on top of the aquarium lid as I have no way to mount it because my ceiling is probably a good 10ft above it.

YES! :) more light is always better!

but i am a stick head and have too much shading...

my thinking is, yes, and you can always turn down the intensity. diversity of light sources will always help with even spread/shading, and then you can run it a little lower intensity. The biggest factor in LED lifespan is heat. the hotter they run the shorter they live, so running them lower should prolong their service life too.

I might could hang them from the red sea arms! I never even thought of trying that!

could even make an easy subframe out of aluminum if the mounting holes don't line up.
IE light-> aluminum angle/flatbar -> red-sea arms
would give it a bit more rigidity too. If you use flat bar and paint it, it wouldn't be too unsightly or add to much depth either. Big box hardware has them for cheap usually.

I would try and add it, but idk if laying on the top off the tank is the best idea

If I understand correctly it is an Orphek bar? If so, In general adding a bar is good for a tank because they tend to reduce shading, especially if the main lights are pucks like the RS 90s.

I think the ones made are pretty good. If it was a 4' tank i'd say see if someone could 3d printing some end mounts but what is 2' shorter than the tank, i think the above ideas are the best options.
