After doing more studying it's not just one area that causes this.

It sounds like the floor might be a bit overloaded if the tank is physically moving as you walk through the room! — does the house have a crawl space? If so, I’d recommend shining a light through exterior wall vents, or poking your head in to see which direction the lumber floor framing goes!

You want any 4+ ft tank to run perpendicular to the floor framing (joists) vs. parallel! This goes double in older construction where the builder may have been stingy and spaced joists further apart than normal!

(When the tank is sitting parallel to the floor joists, it is only resting on one or two of them… when you position the tank perpendicular to the floor joists, it typically sits on 3+ joists!)

No crawl space. A basement. I can go down to the area where this place is.

It's the Remora. Could it be rubbing against the back wall?
Checked the joists. All seems normal down there but I'm not a house builder.

This leads me to think the floor joists are overloaded, and appreciably flexing as someone walks around the tank!

I don't know how to test this now. If they were overloaded wouldn't it be making more of a groan or deeper creak?

This is scary. Id take off the skimmer but I can't due to carbon dosing. Can I tomorrow and wait to dose again until I figure this out?

Not if the wood is acting like a spring, just bouncing a bit with every step!

My concern here is that wood will slowly sag over time when it has too much dead weight pressing on it!
