Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I need a few opinions on berghia (I know...)

Salty under ground is selling 20 berghia for $165 shipped. The only down side is they are only 1/4 inch. Do you guys think that size could do some damage in large numbers? The ones I had from reefenginer were massive and 10 of them cleared my tank pretty quickly.
The original 3 I got were almost an inch already. In my 135 it took about 2 months to really see a difference and that was with several generations now working.

Do you have any wrasses or shrimp in your tank? 1/4" is probably too young to reproduce but they'll eat all right. They just need to live long enough to reproduce and the sprals need to survive. AMphipods and bristleworms may eat eggs. I have read they eat them and it seems that I get fewer offspring with them in the tank but I would not say they will definitely eat them or at least all of them. Twenty is enough to do some serious eating and they usually come in hungry. Just don't spread them around much, best to let them crawl out of the container on their own so they can find each other easily, to pack hunt and to reproduce.

I would think they would need to grow before they would do the damage you are looking for. Have you tried Reeftown? I bought some decent sized ones there that gotter done a few years ago.
They're probably my first choice Kevin. They're not the most expensive either. I agree that I dont have as much faith in the little ones making a quick impact.

If I remember correctly I think I purchased the medium size ones. They are currently having 15% off!

FTS from this evening. Lights starting their ramp down. Moved little Goni that wasn’t terribly happy onto a solid frag stand. Still ticked and I did that this morning. I also moved the green with red / yellowish highlights down to where the Goni was. Moved frag rack forward a bit.

Unfortunately I do have 3 wrasse (nocturnal) That's one of the big cons for the little guys in my opinion. I dont have a ton of rockwork though, so I was intrigued by the sheer volume of 20 berghia lol

Hey just because only 12% of our conversations are related to corals doesn't mean we dont like them! 😆
That kingspawn is unbelievable. All of the corals I’ve gotten from you over the past months are doing great!

Right now I'm trying to correct a phosphate spike due to my own lack of wisdom. No new corals until the ones I already have look happy. No matter how much I like them!

Man those tree guys suffered today, it was overcast but temps were high, I had 2 coolers full of bottled water and Gatorade for them, only one guy had an issue but everyone kicked in to cool him off. I will have to say I picked the right company to do this job, they rocked and i did the best to help the grunts on the ground stay hydrated .

Would be fine but might take awhile until you see results John.
I bought the same one's as you did and boom, gone in no time, but maybe too fast as they ran out of food pretty quickly.
If I were to do it again I'd definitely try the small route.
I'd also clean every inch of every overflow, sump, heater etc when I noticed the aiptasia was gone.
Once the nudis starve, that's it.
That's where I blew it the first time.
Now with the butterflies 🦋, I have nothing but gsp and a few shrooms left.
Not suggesting that route for any coral lovers out there lol 😆

Amanda I hope you are better. I need to read and catch up. I am actually just at home to acclimate a fish I had figured I was not getting.

My husband ordered from Divers Den, Live Aquaria. I explained he should not expect it after everything I had seen posted about it since last fall. That was last week. Today a healthy 3 inch Pyramid Butterfly fish appeared after notice last night. I still didn't believe it until it showed up. Had to come down off the mountain as soon as I heard it arrived.

In quarantine tank now.
Hi Shelley !

But you guys have zero humidity . Tim you try and visit the beach in the 90 s with 60%-70% humidity . 😃
I wouldn't say 0%...

Those are good prices. I guess I can take solace in the fact that it would be at least a 3 hour round trip and roughly 124 miles at $4.50 or so a gallon, during rush hour, through downtown Phoenix, during potential storms. I just may pop over there sometime soon just to see the west side Petcos. Avondale isn't THAT far away. Thanks again. I really do want to get over there to a couple of the better Petcos.
Well, if you ever plan on making the trip down (or up?) to the Avondale (or Westgate) Petco on a weekday (Monday through I) let me know ahead of time so we can meet up for lunch!

And take the Porsche!
