1 tank - 2 fixtures?

If for a particular reason you need to put 2 x T5 (4bulb)/LED hybrid fixtures over a 72 x 24 x 25 tank and the fixtures are a couple inches apart due to the wiring are you going to have a big dead spot in the middle?

If it is not an issue I guess 2 x 36 would be to much due to a big light spread outside the tank as the fixtures together would have a total length of a little more as 72".
Better going with 1x24" and 1x36" ?
