Beautiful pics! I can not take a good fish pic to save my life.
Your coral shots are gorgeous.
For fish I take an average of 200 to have 1 or 2 more or less in focus and good enough for publication.
Camera in manual and fast shooting.
Clean up afterwards is what is the most difficult and time consuming.

Flash/Speed Light makes shooting fish a lot easier.

I only have the build in flash of the camera which gives reflections on the glass.
So for this I need an external flash?
Yes something like this , it will give some reflection on glass, but still a lot better than the built in One.
you can also use some gel filter or diffuser to reduce reflection.

Maintenance day...
Changing 6 buckets of water, siphoning cyano and detritus out, dosing some Probidio BioClean, clean glass and take some pictures.

After removing 5 buckets, the tips of the staghorns came out of the water... that is a first so it must be growing.

Upside down reflection, while I was on my knees to check the reactors.

While I was holding the camera, I could also take the following shots.
As I had the camera on 'continuous-fast', the memory was full before I knew it.
I can say it was not a good session. LOL.

This one is stretching all day long. I am not sure what he is looking for

Janci,
Those are great shots as always.

Is that a "Green Slimmer" in the middle of the first shot?
Thank you Freddie
Yes, it is a green slimer. I started with 2 frags that I stole from a friend's tank that was being closed.
He let me watch his tank during the holidays, but I warned him that I would frag what I could while he was out. He didn't mind as 1 month later the tank would be no more.

Bad news
I got the ICP ATI water results back.

Rodi
- Silicon too high
- Zinc too high
Tank water
- Iodine stays low. It has been low forever and I have been dosing since the beginning. Time to dump more.
- Copper and Zinc too high... way to high.
* Zinc will be because of the rodi station where I changed the filters already recently.
* Copper... I have no idea.

Something might to do with the water supply trouble I have had in the last weeks.
I need to check my water tank as it has been a long time since that was cleaned as well.

One week of not posting so just a little update.
Not too much maintenance was done, except running the numbers of the tank.
ALK dropped till 6.3 so the corals seem to be doing great and I adjusted the CaRx a little for more output effluent. I will measure ALK tonight to see my twist to the knob was not too generous.

I hear that my MP40's are getting very noisy. They are now in for one and a half year.
When I enter the room, I hear the wave makers and that is bothersome. I will need to have a look at that very soon.

Pictures coming soon.

On another note we found out last week that next year we have to move. The move is not that extremely far, but the tank will not get there by itself.
I am kind of doubting what to do as I like the reef set up, but I am not sure if I want to start over or even move it at all.

Still, a home without reef, is like a beer without head....

dang. how far is the drive? of course my initial thought is duh, bring the tank with you cause it's too young and beautiful to call it quits!... but sometimes that just isn't realistic.

I'd drive across the country to take it all off your hands. if only.
