do it. My “mentor” (don’t know how he feels about that title but hey why not?) is also a member of Indmas and on here. As far as driving goes, I drove an hour and a half one way just to see his awesome setup. Driving ain’t an issue if reefing is involved

No skimmer is not HOB. You may not even need it but could probably trade for HOB style. Would work great in small sump and is able to handle way higher bioload than its rated for.
I had it on 130 gallon system with around 150 shrooms, 5 fish. Only upgraded because I got some free stuff lol More than plenty for what you would need for.

Yes but tiny enough to fit in small compartment.
I've seen them in sumps on nano builds and I've seen them totally handling my 130 gallon system lol
