Well, I guess its time for a write up. I hate doing these things because I always get wrapped up in the build, and forget to keep up with it. Anyway…. As you can see in the picture, I am going with a 150 wide 72x24x20. This will be a softie, and LPS reef. I plan on lots of flowing coral, which will rock back and forth in the wavebox.

Lighting will be accomplished with a T5 Icecap/SLS retro. Icecap doesn’t make 60†reflectors yet, so I had to go with Sunlight Supply TEK II Reflector. The retro will contain 6 – 80w bulbs overdriven to 105w (give or take a couple watts). The bulbs will be staggered over the tank for total coverage. Two Icecap 660’s will be powering 3 bulbs each.

For flow I have a Tunze Wavebox 6212, and a Tunze Stream Kit TS12. The kit includes a Tunze 6101, and a 7095 Single Controller. The tank should be turned over 30-45x per hour. I have an Ocean Runner 2500 that will put 600gph through a 90 gallon sump with 60 gallons or so. 10x turnover is a bit more than I like through a sump, but its not too much.

250w heater is all I plan on, since the tank will be in my basement man cave.

I have 7 – 40lbs bags of CaribSea® Aragonite Seaflor Special Grade Reef Sand.

4 buckets of Reef Crystals

100lbs of Marco Rocks curing in a Rubbermaid Bin.
