hands out of the tank is always a good thingI have a 30” deep and it’s very difficult to glue or place things on the bottom. That being said, I keep my hands out of the tank much more than with the 24” I had.

This was going to be my next question! thanks!!If you do go the tall tank, if you get the flipper magnet you should be able to clean the front with ease.
Again, thanks for the detail instructions!Fully agreed. Never had a problem keeping my glass clean with my Flipper Max. Gluing frags was easy using metal tongs and epoxy. I just created a sandwich of superglue, epoxy, and then superglue and push it against the rock with the metal tongs and it was done. I didn't even have to hold it there as the superglue set quickly and then the epoxy hardened shortly after for the extra strength.
First I want to say AWESOME aquarium/setup! There's just something about aquariums sitting on tall stands and not having to bend down to look at your livestock. I have a similar plan with either aquarium I decide to go with. Oh and good luck on the future plans!Just fyi 72*24*30 is 225 gallons. 210s are 27.5in tall.... That being said I have a 225. I love it. Do I have to put my arm completely in to reach the bottom, yes. Does it require a 3 step stool. Yes. Do i also have a 40in tall stand, yes. Do i at 6'2" have to bend over to look at my tank when i stand in front of it? No. Would i buy it again, YES (unless my wife would let me get an 8' tank ;p.). Do I suggest 24in tongs yes. Heres a pic of my daughter enjoying the tank
Yea, I guess I was referring to what Custom Aquariums lists as their liquid volume of their listed 72"x24"x30" tank. They call it a 240gal tank oddly enough. I'm not sure where that comes from.
I have seen 72x24x30 tanks listed anywhere from 200 to 240 LOL. Depends on how one calculates the volume, OD or ID. Tank actually only holds about 200 gallons before displacement by rocks and coral, so 200 is a more 'honest' claim. In answer to the original question, 30" tall everyday, twice on Sunday.
Oh, invest in a step stool and two pairs of tongs. First pair to retrieve dropped frags; second pair to retrieve the dropped first pair. LOL.
Will this work?if i had to pick i would get the added volume but only if you are going to fill it and run some coral to the top. I went a different direction and went wide (36") so i could have the depth and kept the height at 24". there are many ways to skin the cat, but really just go with what you like as there is no wrong answer.
having said that remember at 5'10" you will need to take your shirt off to clean the bottom section...lol
Cameron Poe: "Put the coral back in the water box!"Will this work?
Buahaha!Cameron Poe: "Put the coral back in the water box!"
Is it harder to get light to the bottom of a 30" deep tank? Do you lose a ton of PAR? Or do you just put you lights closer to the surface?
I have a 180 wish it was higher. You could always lower the stand by 3 inches but then again I wish my was 3 inches higher. I guess I was no help here. I went from 55 gallon tanks to 90 gallon tanks and after a while I felt it wasn’t big enough so I went with the 180. 3 years later I wish I went a little bigger. The moral to my story is as time goes by your always going to want to go bigger. Whatever you decide I’m sure you going to enjoy and that’s what it’s all about.
