I have used the cable. Connect the cable to both the apex and your stream. Make sure the stream controller is on the external control setting. Open your apex dash board and start by turning all of the 0-10v connections off. Then turn them on one at a time until you have located the one the stream is on. Relabel the port and add your programming.

Pretty new at this. How do I know which connections are the 0-10v ?

The apex has two variable speed ports, 1/2 and 3/4. In fusion they’ll be listed as VARSPD1_1, VARSPD2_2, etc. I have a ton of profiles that I modified to use with my Tunze‘s, you’ll need to create virtual outlets and profiles in order to utilize them and run programs. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll be creating profiles on your own. Lmk, I can post them here?

If profiles are confusing you can also just use the magic wand but profiles will give you much better control.

True, the wizard gets you started fairly easy, almost forgot about the wizard. Also, the Neptune systems forum is where I found the basics of programming my Tunzes.

Tunze programming
This is where I started, but modified the profiles and timing to my liking. I think page 3 is where he revised everything and it works pretty well. You'll have to play with intensity based on your pumps, but it should be easy enough. I'll copy and paste my last programming before I upgraded to a larger tank. I used this programming on my 22g with two Tunze 6040's and it was awesome.

You can create a profile for feed mode if you don't want to turn off the pumps completely. Remember, the pumps don't actually start to spin until 13% or 15%, I forget what the minimum power is? It may be higher?

Derrick shows you how to program everything listed above in his channel. Also, he has a great live stream Saturday mornings at 10am PST, he has giveaways too, but there's always something good that he talks about and will answer your questions.

That's what I thought when I first started, but once you understand the principles, it gets easier. Watch some of Derrick's videos, as he walks you through it, step by step. Virtually everything is on YouTube, so just type in the search criteria, viola! When I started reefing, we just had books and very few to choose from.

getting ready to settle in for the night and watch a couple hundred videos on how to tweak this bad boy just right. One quick question i probably wont find on there is i have apex lite system with no orp probe. I have added FMM - leak detector, VDM for stream cables for tunzes. How important is the orp probe??
