220 Gallon SPS Reef Build

Was a cool watch mate. Can't believe how big that unicorn tang is. Tank looks even better on video!
I certainly enjoyed the video. 😎
Thanks Guys!
Just have to keep it all alive now and grow it out....and plan the upgrade to keep Thelma happy long term.

(I'll give a hint...it'll be closer to 12 Foot...)

whoa, that'll be a beast of a tank. You've done so well with the 6ft it'll be interesting to see what you can do with something even bigger!

Seeing your tank I feel like I need more rockwork in mine. It just seems baron by comparison, probably doesn't help all the coral look terrible compared to yours also lol. I'm also envious of all your powerheads being on the back wall instead of the sides. I hate trying to clean my glass because of mine... and then if you hit them all of a sudden you get it popping off because the magnets don't match up anymore or the grill will spin itself off and leave the fan open.

It will be - super nervous as i know plenty of guys who just couldnt get the same results in a bigger tank!

The hardest decision will be whether i move it to the centre of our lounge, and do a drop front tank, or if i keep it in the same place, but run it right through the angled wall on the left hand side into the garage.
Would love to move it to the centre of the room and have it as a peninsula style, so much more room for coral then!

I actually started with my powerheads on the sides, so i feel your pain!

Sounds like it'll be a massive undertaking. Will be good to follow along when you start that process so make sure you let us know in here too!

Yeah... I'd love to move mine, but so long as I'm using the ATO reservoir in the back of the CADE tank... I'm kind of out of luck there....

Love this! Beautiful tank!

Sure will be! But one very carefully planned! :-)

No room behind or beside for an external ATO? Could always use a few Reefcan's instead, but not sure if the Cade ATO would have the depth for the dryside anyway...
You def have better flow with the powerheads on the sides - the Cade's are designed with this in mind as you can then get a caddy and frag tank to the side also.

Just got a few new frags in the mail today.

Couple of new Acro - Firetruck and Derek's indecision.
One new Lepto - Green Glitter (going to mount this onto the same rock as the jack o lantern.

Got some new candy cane's also, was meant to be a combo pack but they messed up and sent me the same one that i already had!

Pics to come!

How long have you had your orange shoulder tang for?

How long have you had your orange shoulder tang for?
Over 3 years...and that was after re-homing it from a tank shutdown (Was in its previous tank over 3 also!)

I’ve had mine since 2021. It felt like ages until it changed. I’ve been yearning for years.

Hopefully mine is not too far away from that!
They look amazing when they change (not that they look bad Yellow!).

Amazing video! It really highlights the intricacies of creating a mixed reef...not an easy achievement and you have done it to perfection. Everything looks so vibrant and healthy, both fish and corals. I also envy your collection of tangs. I have a yellow tang (the self-appointed tank boss) and would love to add another but I don't think the yellow would stand for it. And as the "duly elected" sheriff guess I'll choose keeping the peace rather than trying to add another tang. 🤠
