The tank is becoming a frag farm at this point. I’m not taking the time to move frags as fast as they’re growing. Sounds like bragging but it’s a real problem haha. Coral warfare and the effort in trimming is getting to be serious.

Awesome. Forgot you’re in Monterey. I visit regularly to see my daughter. I live up in discovery bay. Might have swing by and see the tank some time.

Through the winter I neglected the tank a bit during my duck hunting activities. This seems to be my annual struggle. Once off kilter it’s very hard to right the ship at this point. I’m working to get nutrients back down but the algae got the better of a lot of my acros this spring even after I kicked into high gear on increased maintenance and water changes. I’ve lost some of my favorites but most are hanging in there and no fish losses I believe. I’m slowly getting the phosphate down though my nitrates were fine at last check. My alk swings were the most destructive part when I would neglect testing. An automatic alk tester would have saved the day for me but I’m being too stingy on it and am paying in other ways for my cheapness. Im still dealing with lots of coral warfare and need to increase my fragging and removal of entire colonies which I hope to do soon.
Pics are from various times since January. I did add a new Kleini butterflyfish from High Tide Aquatics who went to work on my aiptasia problem but also picks a lot at my acros.
