Well thanks to an awesome trade with a cool local reefer I finally have a CUBE! It is a 24X24X20 and it even had a custom stand to go with it!

Here it is as I got it. Minus the window tint off the back of the tank.

Now with a little elbow grease and a little of this

The tank looks like this

Now for the stand. I really like all the access doors it has.

The front of the stand

Left side

Already wired up with a DJ power strip and 2 power outlets with it's own little access panel

All the doors opened

I am going to have some work to do on the back of the tank. I have a TON of silicone to scrape off. The guy I got it from said when he got it the dude had siliconed a piece of acrilic over the overflows and didn't use a sump. He scraped some of it off before he decided it was too big for his apartment. So Now I get to break out the razor blades and elbow grease to get it where I can plumb it again.

I guess I should lay out my ideas for this tank, HUH?
Well as you could probably guess by the title I want it to be chalice only or at least dominate.. I do have a few if you have followed my 220 gallon thread you have seen them. Well most of them ;)

I plan to use an MP10 (or 2) for flow since I already have them. Next I need to get a sump built to fit underneath the cabinet. I want to get as much input on my equipment as I can. I have been at this for too many years and know that I need to get the best stuff I can afford. So I want to get opinions from y'all on what stuff YOU would use if this was YOUR tank.

First up is a skimmer! What do you recommend for this tank? It will not be plumbed into the 220. So probably less than 75 gallons total water volume. I have an ASM G3 or 4 I don't remember which on my 220 and LOVE it but I know there are better ones out there. So please give me your opinions on what you would use!!

I will light it with a 175 W SE MH retro fit and use Ushio 20K bulbs. May put some 24"T5 retro for even more blue or just get some blue LED. I won't use LED for the main lights though. I like the look of the MH and so do my corals!!

Stay tuned! More to come soon..............

as far as a skimmer. I have an swc 160 cone and love it! It's running on about 100 gal of water and working like a charm. I would recommend it for your tank or maybe even bumping one size down seeing the 120 cone is still big enough for your tank...but for $50 why not get one size bigger!

Thanks for the input! I have been wanting a cone skimmer for a while now. I will look into those for sure!

Kinda what I was thinking. LOL. I think LED will be a better match with the MH too beacuse they are so bright that they won't wash out......
