You got $2500 to light a 170 gallon 60x 27. What lights are you buying

I’d stretch budget if possible to $2800 to get the meridian bundle that comes with 2 led bars and the articulating mounts to attach them to the light. I run this on a smaller scale. It’s a solid fixture with excellent spectrum and coverage, plenty of power, sleek looking, silent, and water resistant. The app is easy to use also. The edge bars are powerful, mine can hit 1000 par at the surface, 450 mid tank, and 250 sandbed. From just one edge bar alone. I use the combination of meridians and 14k edge bars, and I would do it again any day of the week. You save a bit with the bundle also. Buy from RB website direct and you don’t pay tax or shipping

The combo also comes with the upgraded 600w power supply so you can run everything off a single power cord.

Funny you mention the meridian as I’m currently running the v2 pro 50 and 2 of the older light bars. Is it worth upgrading in your opinion?

I went from a photon 48v2 and a lumenbar, and I was happy with it. And now I’m using meridians and 2 edge 45 bars, in 14k.

I didn’t know what I was missing out on. The light I can best describe as crisp. I never really used the white channel much, maybe it was something with the spectrum but I didn’t really like it and was a “blue light guy”

The meridians and 14k edge bars have converted me. I can actually crank the whites up and have a normal daylight look and not lose out on the pop from the blue only look. It’s hard to describe but it looks great in person.

The edge bars are not comparable to the prior lumen bars. Not in the same league at all. The lumen bars were basically accent lights - low par, no real control. The edge bars are high power reef bars with optics and multi channel spectrum control.

The 14k bars are very nice and output a brighter 14k look, but if you don’t like it, or want to change throughout the day or night, you can control the blues vs whites individually and manually take over making it whatever look you want. I really like the edge bars. Game changer to my setup. And they mount right to the meridian and can tap in for power also. They use the same app also. Very cool

How do you feel about the meridians whites? Not the edge bars. This is an acro dominated tank and will almost certainly go with the blue/uv spectrum on the edge bars. But I agree I don’t like the white channel one bit on the v2 pro

They fixed the issue with the whites appearance.

Here’s some pics with spectrum in whiter look or cooler blue
