Hi guys, might bet a better response on here than on another forum lol

I'm running 2x hydra 26hd but I don't think I'm getting enough growth from my sps in my 900x500x500. Would a 6x 39w ATI unit be better than the hydra?

This is the schedule I'm running on the hydra's

What size tank? Length? I ran it 6×39 want ATI and I could grow anything from top to bottom, so yes the ATI light would grow coral better I’m sure. But the Hydras should be sufficient unless the tank is too long. I would keep the hydros and add a retrofit t5

Yeah I was running a 36 inch tank with a six bulb 39W ATI T5 fixture. Some of the best coral growth and color I ever had. I’m running a hydra 52 HD with four T5 bulbs right now.Honestly I would keep the Hydra’s and add a T5 retro kit to the hydras. Start off slow with the T5 so you don’t burn coral.

Ditch the hydras. I ran 36" 6 bulb ati powermodule for about 4-5 years and my sps grew like weeds. 3 years now with 2 hydra hd 26's and no comparison. they are garbage. most people supplement them with t5's.

I used to run 2 ocean revive leds on my 65 gallon tank which is almost the same size as yours. They did their job growing from sps, lps, clams, and zoa but at a slower paste. Then I switch to an tek t5 fixture 6 bulb and saw in explosion in growth. All my sps basically double in growth and everything was growing nicely but the heat killed it for me and I missed the color pop from leds. So I switch back to leds with 2 xr15 g5 and they work just as fine. I believe you should try out the t5 and see how you like them compare to your hydras or go for a hybrid setup.

I have 2 hydras on a 48x 24 x 10 frag tank. I seem to get very good growth from my sps. I have ran t5, halides and a variety of led and I am impressed with the hydras, this is my schedule. You could consider a t5 hybrid with the hydras if you want t5
