300 gallon oasis build in AZ

With the new open rock concept in my 300 I have been playing around with lights and getting peoples option's. I added 3 kessil A360, to the light bar which has 4 Radions G5 XR30. So a kessil sits between two radions. I am using the Kessils at max ramp up 50% full blue , no white from 7am to 7pm. The Radions I have now come on from noon till 4pm. Using AB+ going to use Kelvin slide to 14000. Idea is to use Radions as adding white and be my peak blast of light for growing period. I think this will make it easier to adjust light using the Radions as the peak output source and keeping the kessils at full blue. Time will tell if this idea works along with time schedule. I am sure adjusting will happen down the road.

well been doing a lot of reading and question asking from everyone on R2R, other local groups and people all around the world who have big tanks.. We are thinking of next year going to something like a 6ftx4ftx30inch tall tank..or 6ftx4ftx3ft....

So things have been going good since we took out the lace/lave rock but still PO4 is high and so is my nitrate. I like my new hanna phosphate checker better then my old phosphorus checker. So now we on to shopping for a bigger skimmer since the 6 tangs are bigger and we have 40 fish in the 300. The reef octopus 200 int just cant handle the 300 as it was for the old 140 tank. So at this point not sure if we gonna go with reef octopus regal 300SSS or the Reef Octopus super Reef SRO6000. Still looking around and also at other brands but still leaning to stay reef octopus. Going to to hit a used equipment place maybe get a used one and save some $$$$....anyone have any input on brands and success stories? The old reef octopus 200INT is going to be used to handle my Bio pellet and Ozone water discharge. ahhh coffee is ready

OMG....I been dealing with PO4 high, got new Hanna Checker tested my water in the mixing station ..PO .90 !!!! got all new cartidges for the RODI, new ro membrane, and dI resin. Made some water and PO4 was ZERO ...omg ....finally found my issue....

Ordered a new Reef Octopus 300 Int for the 300 and when it get her the 200 int will be used to deal with the bio pellet reactor and ozone reactor water...Can't wait for the beast skimmer to get here..gonna be doing 150 gallon water change also to start to dilute the old water in the tank with the high po4...

Got my hands on a Tunze 9410 skimmer so since they are rated for ozone, change in plans. The Tunze will be used for the ozone and bio pellet water discharge while the new Reef Octopus Regal 300INT (when it get here) will replace the Reef Octopus 200 INT. This change will give me more room in the new 72"x22"x20" sump that we made...oh coffee is done...

Picked up a used 4ftx2ftx10 frag tank for the future...shopping for a light now...

Reef Octopus 200 INT will be used for the frag tank once the 300 INT comes in a few days for the 300.

Well picked up a used 4ftx2ftx10 inch frag tank and the Reef Octopus 300 INT came in on Friday also. The 300 Int will be the main skimmer and I am not sure if I will use the 200 int for the bio pellet and ozone water discharge yet or stay with the Tunze 9410 I am using at the moment. I will come down to size issues for the chamber that has the Bio pellet and ozone water discharge. Also ordered the dual stage DI resin chambers (anion and cation DI resin) from Liquagen to add onto the current 5 stage RODI we have. Also got the PSI meter and TDS inline meter.

AH coffee time here...was up at 5. gonna work on the bbq island today and also play w the 300...Have about 50 assorted Zoa's frags or small cluster of a few polyps. Also 2 duncan and 2 goni's, purple tip hammer and our purple milka stylo are all reacting very positively to the radions being on PHX14(metal halide setting with it set to 1600k and the 3 kessils at full blue 100% and uv at 50% ..They are looking so much better then the AB+ setting...Think AB+ was to bright. Going to keep searching for zoa's, lps and a 4 to 6 very specific SPS for top of tank ...

Spent yesterday making small panel board for the two MP40's on the left side of the tank and the main control panel on the right side of the tank. Today going to add two current wave makers with controller(left over from the 140) to the top back of the tank to push water down the back panel of tank to force water to the bottom of the tank and towards to front panel to create a circular motion to stir up the bottom of the bare bottom.

well it is pouring rain here. Gong to go out and search for a few corals for the 300. looking for a zoa or a goni for Mrs 1 ocean. Will take a few pictures of tank too. Going to do a little update on the sump, adding a carbon reactor and a po4 reactor...
