Hello,

I'm new to this forum, though I've bought some chaeto from a different member a few weeks back. Anyway, I've been working on setting up a 300 gallon aquarium now for the past few months. It started back in May when I contacted CustomAquariums.com about getting an aquarium for our office. The tank we came up with was 96x24x30 (LxWxH) and is basically 300 gallons. They put together their entire seamless sump system, which can apparently be configured in numerous scenarios. We have it going into a 30 gallon sump, then a 20 gallon refugium and another 20 gallon return tank, so about a 70 gallon sump system. The glass is 3/4" high clarity with black silicone. There are four of their siphon stoppers and two holes for two of their H2Overflows going into an H2Overflow Stealthbox. We are pretty excited about the tank! It was installed by their team several weeks back - we posted a YouTube video (more of a timelapse) of the installation. To date we've got a few dozen asterea and margarita snails, plus some scarlett hermits. We also just added 3x blue/green chromis and an algae blenny. There are also four serpent stars and two cucumbers in there, but they are hard to see in the pictures. I'm a big fan of the aquarium - I really like the construction of it, plus the stand is top notch. It has locking doors, a nice canopy and hinged lids on the top. We have 55 SPS corals in a frag tank that will eventually get moved over to this 300 gallon tank when things are more stable and setup.

We mix up saltwater at the office using three Norwesco mixing tanks, plumbed together with a Iwaki WMD-40RLXT. This was something that we took care of on our own, but the team over at Custom Aquariums took a look at the specs to confirm it would work out. We have an Apec RO-PERM w/ APEC DI Filter to feed water into the tanks.

All of the rock came from Reef Cleaners. They were awesome to work with - picked out some really nice pieces for us.

The schedule 40 fittings are being replaced on those Norwesco tanks - just had to be that way to start out with unfortunately.

Here is the refugium that is part of the Seamless Sump area. We added the drain baskets to prevent the chaeto from going through. There is a Tunze 8821 light in there on a timer.

Here are some of the frags going in the tank. We got a majority from WWC, but also got a good 25 or so from Budman Corals (budmanscorals.com). He was great to work with too. There are 5 frags missing - picked up some more when WWC was running 40% off frags due to Hurricane Irma.

Thanks for the comments! I'm looking forward to the next few months as I've never done a saltwater aquarium before!

Here are some pictures from October 3, 2017 - had just added the frag racks into the tank and was still getting some bubbles from the siphon stoppers being too high.
