38 Innovative Marine Nano Tank

My sons 38 Nuvo has been all cleaned out and started a New. Tank will be using zeovit system, it has ran for 15 days on r/o and salt was added couple days ago. Rock is in and cycling for last 5 days or so. Snails are in and thats it. Running a Kessil 350 Narrow might switch to wide but i thing it looks good. Rock work came out real nice. Tank has a home made skimmer and uses only zeo stones in the filter chamber and small bag of carbon.

Skimmer

Laugh if you want but it works better than the skimmer made for this tank. 185 eco pump with modded mesh impeller. A coke bottle cut in half mounts perfect onto pump nozzel then a square simply orange jucie bottle on top cut in half. the orane juice bottle has the bottom cut off and slips over the coke bottle. Since the orange is square and coke bottle is round water exits skimmer through the coners of the jucie bottle. NOW the cool part, Because the bottles fit so well together are bubble cant escape through the sides of the bottle so they spin in between the bottles and goes back up mostly water comes out of corners air is forced back in to chamber. I used a old aqua medic skimmer cup to fit on top if juice bottle. I cut off the top of juice so skimmer cup sits flat..Adjustments are made by pulling top bottle up or down.

Looks like you got a great start… I just recently set up the same exact 38 nuvo for my son as well... I ended up using a Hydor skimmer... Looking forward to following along and watching your tank progress.

Its my 4yr old tank so we got creative. I got the royal exclusive's working on my tanks but a skimmer doesn't have to cost $1000 dollars this one cost $10.
Couldn't ask for anything more with this one fits perfect,quite too and gets job done. Rather spend money on livestock that's what the kids want to see not fancy skimmer.

Never seen the show. Its only 4 rocks that fit like a glove taking pictures of in additions now. Hopefully my throne will be coverd in montipora and chalices in 90 days.

I have added a few items. Tank is doing ok needs water change, my back is toast so water changes have been few if any. My back been acting up so no way I can take pictures as its a very low tank . Though I used a tripod for better pics I cant stand or kneel long to bother with it. Got MRI taken today to see what problem is. I got t-boned at a intersection after person ran red light totaling my truck on January 1st middle of the day. Been dealing with this problem now since then Tryin to post asap as ive added some nice critters.
