Took a water sample to a LFS he tested it for me with a strip test

Water is all clear! Think I should get a second opinion?

I got a second opinion on my water, here are the results:

pH: 8.0 - 8.2
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate: 0ppm
Amonia: 0 - .25ppm

Salinity: 34 sg ~1.025

I bought a thermometer because the water was feeling a bit cold and it turns out my temp is a little low. Now that I have the light on for an hour it is rising @72.5 degrees now.

It looks like I will need to invest in a heater for my tank, now that it is getting colder out. Any suggestions?

Its to be expected. The tank looks great!

Looking good! I'm not sure how long the diatom outbreak lasts, but it is a good sign of progression nonetheless. Once you get that heater in there I think you will be within a week or two closer to adding in a snail or two to help with some of the outbreaks.

Feels nice to actually be doing this the right way! My old roommate never let his tank cycle like this, I don't think. Plus he had a cheap very old lighting fixture...

Patience is golden when it comes to tanks...

Once my heater and lid get here I am going to throw on the clear mounting legs and will be able to sit back and enjoy!!

I hope this Diatom bloom doesn't last to long though, its pretty nasty to look at.
